Simple question.
I'd like to hear some thoughts about it

Would a Communist Government work in a new country ?

I believe, that if it weren't for human greed and self-interest,
a Communist form of government would be successful.

and that's exactly why communism won't work. it looks great on paper but people have to go and be people...

plus there was a thread on this last year. do a search for it, it was quite a lively debate that never turned into trash talking. i recommend finding since it contained some well thought out points.

Communism would not be a good help. Althought on paper it helps the people and would build a nation into high wealth it just doesnt work. There will always be a high class and a low class, depending upon where you are there can sometimes be no middle class, A new country Like Kosovoski, would not do good. Although i cannot say capitalism is any better.

I agree, I think Communist Government is and has been a good idea, but it will never ever work, because of the greed for power and money, but if we to overcome human greed, hell sign me up for this new country

That is on the lines of what I was thinking. IF, notice the big "if", we could perhaps bring up a colony of children and breed them without knowledge of capitalism, self-interest, or money, I think that Communism could work

yea just look at all the dictators they all said they were going to lead their people and everything is going to be fair, etc...etc, but they all the sudden get alittle to greedy for power, and everything goes down hill

Communism is a great concept. However, it doesn't work out too well due to human greed and mentality.

I would have to strongly disagree with that. Aside from the fact that Che Guevara in my opinion is one of the greatest leaders in modern history, i believe cuba is doing great since Fidel Castro stepped aside.

Give his brother some credit, he is allowing internet and phones now. not to mention the fact that he drove Fidel Castro crazy when he decided to begin peace talks with the united states!!

Back on topic, i believe communism is a great form of government/economy. perhaps a slight bit better than even capitalism. The point is tho, it begins fairly well with good potential... but after the exchange of many heads of government and leaders it starts falling apart as the ideas get scrambled.

Communism is an ideological government that supports common ownership of all national possessions. Cuba isn't communist. There isn't a single communist country in the world and there never has been one. Its an ideology, that the soviet union promised to achieve in order to get stupid people supporting their actions.

That is just being human. You are right tho, this is where the main catch is, communism presumes that everybody is selfless and will do something for the greater good of being equal. I don't know about you people, but I'd rather off myself than be forced into equality with everybody else in country/world. Maybe thats just me being right conservative...

cuba and north korea are the only communist country left in the world well atleast far far far left wing communists.

while everyone here says teh communism doesnt work look at china. this country is mainly communist with a twist of free market and look how its doing. although in the past the leaders of the communist countries were terrible there are some who can take on the helm and do well. che would have been great but someone decided he was better off dead.
