Would You be Afraid?

Quick couple of hypothetical questions, won't fill this one with 15 thousand characters. Have you seen the movie V for Vendetta? If so, great. If not, I suggest you check it out. Really great movie.

Let's say something like in V for Vendetta happened in America. I know it's just a movie, I was just thinking it would be really weird if something like that were to happen someday. So my questions.

Are you pleased with the direction our government is taking us? Would you be afraid to stand against the government? Do you think it might be necessary? Not necessarily right now, but someday?

...I think I honestly would be afraid. And for some reason I'm having trouble putting into words, that makes me very, very uncomfortable.

Right now in my opinion the direction the government is taking the population is unknown because should Barack Obama win the election, he will go somewhere completely different than where John McCain would go.

Barack Obama is extreme liberal while John McCain is Moderate Conservative. Should McCain and Clinton have been going toe to toe than the government would end up under similar policy.

But to answer your question, seeing as how a lot of people in the United States are not politically involved or matter of fact politically literate i do see people not standing up to the authorities should the need arise. When asked why people would vote for a certain candidate they couldnt support the decision and when you do something and you are unable to backup or support your choice with facts it becomes dangerous because then the decision is being made out of sheer ignorance.

And yes, i believe it is definately necessary for the people to take a stand should the need get here.

Not be afraid. Fight evil in all shapes or forms, wether it be some group that wants to enforce itself upon the free people of earth or my own government who wants to take control of its population, the only bad decision would be to do nothing you either support or oppose there is no grounds for neutral.

I assume we are talking about the overpowering government here not the rebellion.

If so then I would be afraid, but I would also not be one to sit around doing nothing. Im not talking about going out there and getting myself killed, but if it were the same situation and there was a rebellion forming, I cant say I wouldnt join up.

After all

This is true of anyone trying to take our freedom, be they an apposing army or a Orwellian government.

Im not from the US but the same applies everywhere.

I think V in that movie was correct. The government needed a change and he loved his country enough to give his life to make things better. If things need done sometimes it's better to just do it yourself, if you know what i mean. If it was me. I would start the government straight from scratch right now. Way too much corruption anywhere now a days to trust anyone. The thing you really have to ask yourself is what have they ever done for you? Do you think it's time for change and what shall be done? you're right bobson that's a movie that will get you thinking. Things need to change soon or they'll never change anywhere though. Nows the time to stand up but everyone is too busy living in fear.
