Default the US, UK and Middle east

Uk is now officially part of the US, as far as i am concerned. we all back your under-the-belt missile plan, so, we have officially given up our independence to join your Americans

lol

Middle east crisis, i think Israel is right, everybody picks a fight with THEM, and you expect them to do nothing

lol

fat chance

let the Israeli's kill all the Iranians and militants, then there is less of a problem for all your troops there, less deaths for your part. and. as i see it. they could do a better job anyway

Controversial post with little or no explanation, reasoning or arguementative examples....

Stand by to be flamed to death by various "learned" people from here.....

anyways... Hezbollah was a known threat, but yet the UN said NO, wtf, why would they do that, what did they have to say about Hamas, or Al-Quaeda, this is very hypocritical, let s**t sort itself out come out of the equation, then back in.

If the Israelis', or any1 else for that matter, have an issue, let them deal with it quick and good. but then the retaliation from all the muslims will be 'Islam UNITE' or something like that, and there will be world war, so, the UN needs to step in there, that precise moment when it has erased the issue, but can stop the next one arising.

I am not being racist, but just look at those dodgy danish cartoons about islam, there was gonna be mass break out a that point, why, cos in some paper they told some wierd jokes which wern't even funny

oh, and guess what, i think Mohammed is a quality name for a teddy bear, why the fuss, i call my teddy bear Jesus, why should you care?

Islam is the main topic here because all the major terrorist organisations are about 80% Islamic based, the rest are essentially ETA and gangs.

(sorry, his is not meant to be racist in any way, if it is, please pm me. i am in a ranting mood right now)

Raven is hardly Emo.

I would watch who you insult here.

Also, I see Yankees has contributed yet another "educational" post above. Good job.

If you knew anything about politics, you would realize that the UK and US are splitting further apart with the election of Brown. This has lead the US becoming more friendly with France and Germany.

As to Hezbollah, the reason they are so powerful is that they take care of the people. If you have gone to Lebanon, you would see that the gov't is crap. Hezbollah are the people in charging of the sewage and cleaning the streets.

I am Hindu, one of the so called religions that Islam has had issues with, but I lived in the Middle East for 4 years. I see the Islam is a misunderstood religion. Only reason you think 80% of terrorist groups are muslim is because that is all you hear about. What about Basque or the peeps in Northern Ireland? They never get talked about. get your facts straight man

DunlandXiG,

Your posts are a difficult hard to follow as it touches various subjects that have little relation with one another. Also, proper grammar would make your post easier to read.

Maybe if you narrowed your subject a bit fellow members can understand your position, contribute, and have a worthwhile discussion.

*sigh*

DunlandXiG,

I love upstarts who reckon they can "appear" on the forums and insult long standing members of the community without checking 1) Who they are and 2) the consequences of their insults and or rantings......

I'd really advise you to read the forum rules and Terms of Service before you find yourself "unable" to

I'd also advise you to look into Middle East politics in much more detail before making broad sweeping and incorrect statements such as those in your first post above.

However I'll pick your inflamatory rantings to pieces bit by bit for you if you like

Rob

ok
let me make things clear, i no they are unrelated, but anyways

I know what i am talking about alrite, i am in contact with many people in various countries, for what it counts for, i have also read the Koran (which may i add quickly says under NO circumstances may you commit suicide, i am guessing even fro Jihad, which i think is a brilliant moral principal. Suicide by blowing yourself up is not allowed, and deliberately getting yourself killed also applies, but fighting then dying is 'permitted') . I just want to ask, does anybody actually think that it is right for a group like hezbollah to go unattended when almost the exact same situation, be it on a more public scale, is going on with the US and Al'Quaeda.

If it is right for US to go on a 'war of terror' then why is it that Israel can't. and even more conspiratorial theory, why are the other middle eastern countries (namely Iran) supporting them against israel, don't even bother telling me Iran has nothing against israel, because, and i quote, 'israel is not a country.... we shall destroy it (in a few more words)' were the words of their President.

I am not Israeli, or Jewish, i am Russian, and i just have to say that if the Middle east crisis was to be blamed on one group, it would be the Islamic countries on Israel, becasue they got the land, and to be honest with you, that is another story completely

ok,

Let's just give you some low-down on hezbollah then shall we?

You're still trying to state that Hezbollah and Al'Quaeda are similar

Firstly only Six countries; United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Philippines, Australia, officially list Hezbollah, or its external security arm, as a terrorist organization

Most in the Arab (including Christians) and Muslim worlds regard Hezbollah as a legitimate resistance movement.

Hezbollah has popular support in Shi'a Lebanese society and has mobilized demonstrations of hundreds of thousands.

Hezbollah receives its financial support mainly from the donations of Lebanese Shi’ites.

Hezbollah, which started with only a militia, has grown to an organization with seats in the Lebanese government, a radio- and a satellite television-station, and programs for social development.

Hezbollah, along with the Amal Movement, represents most of Lebanon. Hezbollah participates in the Parliament of Lebanon. In the general election of 2005, it won 10.9% of parliamentary seats.

The Resistance and Development Bloc, of which Hezbollah is a member, won all 23 seats in Southern Lebanon, and in total, 35 seats, or 27.3% of parliamentary seats nationwide. When municipal elections were held in the first half of 2004, Hezbollah won control of 21% of the municipalities.

Hezbollah has been one the main parties of March 8 Alliance since polarization of political atmosphere of Lebanon in March 2005. Although Hezbollah had joined the new government in 2005, it remained staunchly opposed to the March 14 Alliance.

In November 2006, Hezbollah, the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM), and the Amal Movement jointly demanded the establishment of a "national unity government" in which they demanded early elections and one third of the Cabinet seats; effectively, veto power.

When negotiations with the ruling coalition failed, five Cabinet Ministers from Hezbollah and Amal resigned their positions.

On December 1, 2006, these groups began the 2006–present Lebanese revolt, an ongoing series of protests and sit-ins in opposition to the government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora

Now, please explain how a democratically elected party in the Lebanon that is recognised by the majority of the modern world can be remotely compared to Al'Quaeda?

I await your arguement with interest....

Hezbollah has little to do with Al'Quaeda -- the exception being the of killing Americans. 17 in April of '83 then another 241 in October of that year.

I'm not too confident as well in portraying any middle east version of democracy with our own. Theirs leaves much to be desired and is based on fears, not freedoms. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't they also assassinate some of their competition in these democratic elections?

Most important thing to recognize about Hezbollah is that they're trained and funded in large part by Iran, and to a smaller extent by Syria - the Lebanese people are dirt poor. Hezbollah is a proxy for Iran, and while there is no evidence that they have anything to do organizationally with Al'Quaeda, they are terrorists, and they will gladly kill Americans or anyone else when it serves their twisted religious purposes.

Given how most react to terror, got to give credit to Regan here. Under his watch after 241 Marines were killed he simply pulled out of Lebanon.

The beat goes on.

According to the U.S. State Department, Hezbollah receives "substantial amounts of financial, training, weapons, explosives, political, diplomatic, and organizational aid from Iran and Syria." The organization's annual operational budget is believed to be between $200 million and $500 million, including some $100 million from Iran.

In July 2006 Hezbollah conducted a surprise raid on a border post in northern Israel, taking two Israeli soldiers captive.

The abductions prompted an Israeli military campaign against Lebanon, to which Hezbollah responded by firing hundreds of rockets across the Lebanese border and into heavily populated Israeli cities. It launched these rockets from civilian areas in Lebanon, making it impossible for Israel to retaliate without causing civilian casualties, which Hezbollah then exploited for propaganda purposes.

On July 14, 2006, Hezbollah struck an Israeli Saar 5-class missile ship and an Egyptian-crewed cargo ship with highly sophisticated C-802 anti-ship missiles. Manufactured in China, these missiles need highly trained operators to crew them -- a function that most likely was performed by Iranian Revolutionary Guard troops.

The fighting continued for a month, during which Israel targeted many Hezbollah strongholds, and Hezbollah launched more than 4,000 rockets into Israeli cities, killing 43 people and injuring thousands.

They might be terrorists, but they're one of the most well armed fundamentalist groups there are.

In December, 2006, hundreds of thousands of Hezbollah members and their Shiite
