I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the Rant Zone. I chose this one since it does concern our govt. behavior, even tho I truly want to rant about it.

Congress recently passed a ban on on-line gambling.

WHY????

I am a conservative, I like to gamble and I think congress has overstepped their responsibilities, AGAIN. They should be worring more about immigration and what's happening in Afganistan, IRAG and IRAN.

If they want to ban something worthwhile, BAN THE FREAKIN' U.N.!!!! (sorry, that last one was a rant).

I don't understand why they banned online gambling. Was it just a ban on US based websites? If so then that means that people will just play on sites based somewhere else and some other government will get to tax the profits.

We've been doing the opposite in the UK, relaxing gambling rules and relaxing / extending alcohol license hours. Now I can go to the casino and drink till 6am[:-]. Apparently some people didn't think this was a good idea for some reason.

We have had online gambling banned in Washington State for a while now.......but we have DWI/DUI offenders still driving documented with over 6 DWI's...some of our politicians have this same vice along with a superior court justice for our state who did a hit and run while intoxicated at almost three times the limit...like .23 if I remember correctly and she got a slap on the wrist AND kept her job. We must not have gambling politicians because those laws are harsh (unless you are an Native American, then you can almost do what you want on tribe land)...but we know we have drinking ones because they refuse to even talk about that problem.
