I doubt this will be the case. The vote will boil down to issues and campaign stances.
Currently, Obama has taken Vermont, and Hilary has taken Ohio and Rhode Island. The Texas vote is still too close to tell, with the margin being only 51,000. As a correspondent for MSNBC just stated, even if Hilary takes Texas, Their respective VT and RI wins cancel each other out, leaving Hilary with a potential gain of 5-9 delegates form Ohio. In Texas, even if Hilary wins the popular vote, Obama has taken all the major delegate areas ( Dallas, Austin, Houston ), and should she come out with a 3-1 victory tonight, she still could still be minus delegates. Go Obama.

It is going to be very difficult for Hillary to win the Democratic nomination from here. She needed to win by more, especially in Texas. Without a LOT of help from superdelegates or a string of wins with over 60%, which doesn't seem likely, the math just doesn't work out for her. I am most interested in seeing if she is willing to take the number 2 spot on the ticket. I am pretty sure Barack would be OK with VP. He is still young enough that in 8 years he could run as the sitting VP, but I think she would stay in the senate and try to become majority leader or something like that.

The democrats better get something figured out and quit being so divided or we will be stuck with McCain...
I personally don't have a clue who will win at this point. I was sure that Bush would lose last time so I guess my "odds making" about these issues is off.

The past 2 elections I thought the Dems could only lose if they effed it up. The democratic parts has had the whole nation saying "anything but Bush," but then we got Kerry and now we have the Obama/Clinton survivor.
I am very conservative, but I do not particularly like Bush or McCain. I would love to vote for a better candidate, but is this the best the Dems have to offer?

The only real thing that bothers me about Obama is his lack of experience and who could end up pulling his strings if he ends up in the white house.

I'm not so excited about the ObamaNation as some are... don't really understand what all the passion is about. Yes, anything is better than another four years of Bush and it looks at this point very much like it will be an Obama vs. McCain general election. Obama talks a good fight, but there's just no way to know if its his time.
I think I like McCain because the hard core conservatives don't. But, any vote for him would have to be a vote for his running mate. Chances are McCain could become ill and have to be replaced before his first term is up. Clinton has run a miserable campaign. Too many critical mistakes to be bragging about all the experience. Her staff had nothing planned beyond March 5th - they thought it would be a cake walk. I'm not decided yet, but a funny thing happened last week. I was watching some TV and this commercial I hadn't seen before came on. The announcer spoke of a phone call in the middle of the night, who has the experience, who is best able to protect us in this uncertain world... I watched and thought to myself, oh, here's another McCain commercial -- then Hillary picks up the phone. oops, not what her ad people had in mind, and for me it was telling. Maybe it was the fear card play that made me think Republican, in any case McCain has made his bones for this country and if deserves has anything to do with it he gets the call. Problem for McCain is all the damage done by Bush, and the feeling in the country about Republicans in general - people just don't want another four or more years of trust lost, lies, war, and fear. And let's not get all excited about leaving Iraq if the Dem's get in. It won't matter who sits in the big chair next year - I suspect we won't be leaving that miserable country for many years to come. We broke it, we fix it. Unfortunately. Most important no matter which side you like - when the time comes get out and VOTE. ~A Last edited by Atrus; 03-07-2008 at 11:45 PM. Reason: typo |

Obama is a highly intelligent individual but lacking any sort of political experience. First term Senator . . . Presidential candidate because of popularity . . . just like a high school class president . . . my opinion. . . too soon for him.
Hillary . . . Clinton legacy . . . part of the old corps with little or no prior elected position. First term Senator from New York . . . remember she moved there for a reason. . . I like her 180 shift regarding NAFTA. . . NAFTA was good for corporations but bad for American workers. Anyone who voted for NAFTA both Democrates and Republicans screwed the American worker. All of the Democratic candidates lacked any real business success i.e. turning a company around, make profit, etc. I like McCain!!! White Pinnacle |
