Crysis Warhead!

Im so disappointed at how short this game is.... unfortunately my computer is really really old and crap so i couldnt enjoy the awesome gfx.

They should have made this game longer imo!!! It was way too short!

Anyone else played the game??? And what you think of it?

One of the best games of the year so far hands down.

Almost the same as the original Crysis but better on EVERY LEVEL.

1- Less demanding, on my PC Crysis extreme setting was not available due to the DX10 virtual limitation so I hacked it and played on extreme anyways on my DX9 and compering it to the already available extreme setting on Warhead there is a big difference on how they both run, I had better smooth game play at like 12 more FPS.

2- AI much smarter esp. for the alien part they flanked almost always and they used shield deactivaters and some major fire power.

3- Registry fixed big time!!! One of the biggest faults in the original was the that the bullet registry sucked where you can kill someone with a HS from a mile away or empty clips in his face and he wouldn't die. That was fixed to a huge extent very rarly does it happen.

4- A lot of new vehicles that shoot and drive ten times better than the original, old ones do too. Huge improvement that actually makes you wan to jump in a tank or Jeep.

5- Driving missions are great although the tank mission in the original was hard to beat.

6- Guns a lot more guns to chose from from almost the beginning to the end, no more worries of what to use where, you always have UZI's to use left and right and Snipers or Grenade Launchers and yeah the Gauss gun rocks.

7- The game length is proportional to the games price, I got it for 35$ tax in. I played a mission a day lasted me like 6 days to finish with a Huge replayability factor esp. as back to back with the original as the original still rocks.

8- Story line was very much like the original except you focus is on Mr. Lee, his Box, and Psycho's personality. None the less keeps wanting you to go through the missions nice and smooth.

9- Online game is better but still does not intrigue me and I wont be jumping ships from Valve to EA or Cytek's online gaming anytime soon.


I enjoyed the game greatly and I do consider it one of the best I've played since HL2 and it's episodes, and I can't wait for more from Crysis and Crytek alike as each game they make they are getting better, I wasn't a fan of the original Farcry but what I hated in it is already been fixed in Crysis and Warhead and what I liked is already been added on and improved, my only hope is that the system requirements don't keep going up as this PC cost me a lot and I'm not upgrading anytime soon.

Dont get me wrong i did like it, but it was too short for me. They can do so much better with this engine.

I dont agree with you on weapons, there isnt many to choose from. AI was alot better yes apart from the flying aliens that had wallhack and some of the APC/Tanks can also see you through walls (maybe there just covering there asses and firing for fun?).

I see Crysis and this game like COD4, they are just showing off the new stuff they have and dont really wana make a lengthy game. Fair enough the coders worked there balls off makin this, but for me i need a really lengthy storyline for singleplayer. But not too long that i lose interest, these game designers cant win lol.

I'm not gonna buy this one, I tried Crysis, finished it, pretty much a waste of time ( just like those medal of honors game that you play the single player and then you just stop playing it )...

Crysis have good graphic, the gameplay was something new when it came out but, I don't know... just not my type of game.

FarCry was in my opinion a LOT better, LARGE open areas, a lot of content, etc. When it came out it was one of the best game on the market, they are about to release Farcry 2, looks interesting, the multiplayer could be good from what I saw, there's a complete map editor ( over a 1000 objects ! ), good graphics, gameplay, etc.


And btw Gta IV wins the best game of the year without a doubt, with so many 10/10, so many best game ever ( last one was ocarina of time ), the lowest review that I saw was 9/10.

I have to agree, crysis warhead really stands out as one of the best games of 2008. The graphics are just outstanding (I play with DX10). Not to mention the improved gameplay, quirky characters and awsome storeyline. Also when you play the multiplayer 'crysis wars', you lose nothing. The graphics dont suffer, the gameplay is really exellent. You slip striaght into the drivers seat and just start to have fun. The only downside sometimes is the sheer scale of some of the maps means you dont see otherplayers for minutes at a time. (Which doesnt sound long but is...) I mean seriously some are just astronmically sized. But i think this will be sorted out when more people start buying the game and servers start filling a bit more.

If you have a decent computer, id recommend getting crysis warhead. Because you ARE missing out. Its £20 and its worth every penny. It will be around for a long time!
