I play at COMMON GROUNDS D2 | 100tic (18) 83.142.230.73:27015 de_dust2 all the time (Have done for 4-5 hours a day since the dawn of time). And i have to say im starting to get a little bit dis-heartened. The sheer amount of blatant hackers in there is starting to make me rage a little bit. Everyone comes across one of these guys once in a while, pre-shot's they say is "good headphones" Following people through walls and box's they say is "intuition" It just stinks of foul play. And there are a lot of them now.

And now to my point, i know there are a lot of REALLY good admins around the spawnpoint servers because ive witnessed them in action. But in the commongrounds one, there seems to be a distinct lack of admin presence. I know some of the mob.beta guys have admin, but they are hardly on these days. Im not knocking any admins at all, y'all do a brilliant job when your on. its just that there is really nothing being done about these blatant abuses of the rules and its starting to get not only to me, but to a lot of the other regular players too. These hackers are not just hackers either, they are spamming abusive little pukes that rile everyone up on the server and they end up emptying it. I dont know what kind of soloution im suggesting its just getting to a point now where the hackers really are taking over the server, and the few honest players that frequent this server day to day are going elsewear. I think its time for an assult on these hacking pests! But its a little hard when there are no admins on, im tired of making demo's and writing down steam_id's Something needs to be done! But the question is what? I know people have lives and its unfair to ask for admin to be on the server 24/7 But im not asking for that... Just once a week would be nice.

See, a lot of our non-admin regulars would record a demo and submit it through the "Report a Hacker" section.

Also you have no idea how many admins we actually have that play on that server

I love people who rant about "lack of admins" and "hacker this, hacker that" who have an amazing zero hackers caught or demos submitted.

As for emptying the server the stats would appear to dispute that fact. Ah well...........

Have you never thought of applying for admin? You never know there might well be a space on the team for you.....

I wasn't trying to throw disrespect around thats not why i posted. And your right i dont know how many admins you have. Im just speaking from experience. I havent thought about applying for admin if im honest. But i certainly am now . I dont want to come across as a whiner because im really not. I believe hackers will get caught and banned sooner or later. You know what its like though, with a team full of hackers on one side just owning everything. It gets frustrating!
With regaurds to admin application, wont it go against me that im a newbie to the forums?

You may apply for admin on that server, and your application will be discussed among the sss. You never know! In the meantime, try and get yourself some admins on your friends' list. There is something very important that you can do in the meantime!!

*sigh* ive spent most of this week and last week in commongrounds, whats your ingame name usually?
I've banned 2 hackers this week and got 3 complaints from someone of hackers, when i specced them they werent. Its really not that bad of server...

I will try not to take this too "personaly", but as I've been playing on this server minimum 2 hours a day in the last 3 or 4 years (including 2 years with admin abilities now), I think I'm concerned by this thread.

So you are calling regular players "hackers". And what if they are just good players ? Yes, people with good speakers can look like wallhackers, people aiming good and fast can look like hackers, but not always are.
I'm not saying that you're wrong about those you think are hackers, but just that those that I have spent hours watching, and who are regularly playing on this server, are in my opinion not cheaters. And if you would spend some time in spectator recording them, carefully taking a look at what they do and what they can hear, maybe you would change your opinion about them.

Now my role as an admin is to demo suspected cheaters, ban them if I'm 110% sure they are cheating and report them. What if I'm not 110% sure because I think they are just good players ? I'm not repsonsible for you thinking otherwise. If you disagree with my decision, like Raven said, you can record demos and submit them too.

You say that you're fed up with demoing players, though you have 0 hackers caught. I have more than 300, most of them caught on this server as this is the one I play the most. And I can assure you that I see less and less hackers on this server compared to what it used to be just 1 or 2 years ago (mostly thanks to the other regular admins playing there who do a great job keeping the server cheater-free).

I don't want to be harsh, the problem is I hear more and more players calling other players "hackers", and when I spend some time watching them carefully, they are not. And if the "whining player" had also been taking the time do record a demo, he would probably have noticed it. But most players just prefer to whine about the admins not doing their job... and I feel very disappointed about this attitude. I gave so much of my time for YOU, the players on this server, to record and ban hackers, that I would appreciate you sometimes just spent 5 minutes of your own time to record a demo.

I appreciate youve been around a long time as an admin. But just because i dont have 300hackers caught under my name or just becasue i dont have a thousend posts, do not mistake me for someone who doesnt know what hes talking about and who whines about hackers. I know the difference between a good player and a cheater my friend. Ive been around a hell of a long time too. I said im not disrespecting you or any other admins for that matter. It just seems, probably down to blind coincidence that when i play (Daily in the afternoon time, normally when the missus is watching jeremy kyle) that there dont seem to be any admins around. Im really not trying to disrespect anyone, and you have already caught 306 hackers, which is a great deed for not only this community but the wider css community. And it sends a tough message to the friends of those hackers you caught who will now surley be told about it and will think twice about hacking also. But i know when someone is cheating. Im talking about blatant cheating. Watching people THROUGH double doors from t-spawn and shooting them BEFORE they appear and saying its their headphones. Now unless you take me for a complete idiot, id call that hacking. But when so many people whine about incidents like that, the player stops doing it, which makes it pretty difficult to record a demo. Its just little things like that which get my goat...

Now this is not to say that this is the case here, but if you go through the history of these forums, every new member always claims there are dozens of hackers on their server, and never an admin on.

Brian, I'm really disappointed that you seem to reckon that there's never any admins on that server when the fact is there are

37000 people seem to disagree but hey, perhaps they're ALL wrong. Also I really don't care how often or how long you have played the game. Perhaps, if you haven't anything constructive to say you shouldn't bother saying anything at all.

You're slowly alienating a whole host of the long term members of our community........

Also just a side issue, OnDust 2 I can track playeys from T spawn right the way through B tunnels and tell you if they are heading for B or down the stairs towards CT double doors whilst standing still at the Double doors just outside T spawn Perhaps I just hack

You are soreley incorrect. I haven't belittled anyone, and in contrast, everytime i've come across a post that you have made Raven, that is what you have done. Belittled people. and this is the first time ive "Moaned" The simple fact is that i am not the only person who believes what i've come forward and said. And whilst you dont like it, my point is valid and still stands. But im the only one thats bothered to come here from the server and talk about it. I wish i hadn't. The only thing ive learned about this community is that your not too bothered. You say you want to make it better for everyone, but when someone suggests a way to do that, you hide behind statistics and how its allright for 37000 other people. From my viewpoint it seems like everytime someone submits a suggestion that isn't to your taste or doesn't strike the right chord with you raven, they get slapped back. Maybe thats whats wrong with the community, people not being taken seriously or wrote off as wrong because they are new here... people like you who belittle people because of a low post count, or because they say things that rub you the wrong way are whats wrong here. Not people coming to these forums in good conscience and good faith thinking they will be listened too. But don't worry, if this is the reception ppeople like me recieve from people like you raven, i'll take leave of the community because your right, its something i shouldnt be part of. For the record, there are some brilliant admin around the spawnpoint servers and some lovley people here such as skydavo and teh-pwnzer who have interprited this thread correctly and advised me what i can do to help, rather than thrown their toys out of the pram and challenged my intelligence. Perhaps ill see you around the servers in future. Ill look forward to owning you. =D

I appreciate you raising this issue on our forums, thank you.

Commongrounds does have a large admin count, however, I understand completely that in your experience, you often find the server lacking in admin.
Naturally we are unable to guarantee admin coverage 24/7.
Also, there are a lot of skilled players on the server that have been demo'd countless times but remain inconclusive.
Should you feel a player is cheating on any of our servers, I would urge you to record a demo and submit it. Cheats are globally banned from all of our servers on a daily basis.

If considering applying for admin, I would suggest you become acquainted with recording demos and submitting them. All of our admin (from guest admin through to staff) are required to submit demos when banning hackers. Another admin requirement is to check the Report An incident Thread on a daily basis in case a complaint or appeal has been posted against them.
