Today I took a trip to my local gas station to fill up my car...well, at least that's what I was planning on doing.
I didn't fill up. I noticed the out of control, crazy price of gas. Don't get me wrong, I know this was a problem many months ago and I knew it would get worse. But this is really, really ridiculous!Westchester County, New York, U.S.A. Regular (87% oct.) 3.999 = $4.00/gal Special (89% oct.) 4.129 = $4.13/gal Super (93% oct.) 4.179 = $4.18/gal These can vary from one area to the other...I'm sure, but I'd like to see how our friends overseas are doing also. We were having a discussion about this in vent a few nights ago and it got me thinking!!! Post what you are paying at the pumps today!

In the UK for me it's just >$8 / gallon (£1.09p/litre). Then again, my car will do 50+ mpg if I drive sensibly, and I can easily get 42mpg out of it, so I probably still pay less per mile than most Americans....

*Must trade in gas guzzler that I drive for a more sensible car*
![]() I've seen it affect a lot of the things that I do...mostly car pool. My friends and I ALWAYS car pool to wherever we go. Designated driver always drives (duh) and we all take turns. That's mostly for going into the city where parking availability and costs are sky high too! And no, we don't use public transportation....ever! ![]()

I have a great car, I put a chip in to get better KPL (kilometer per liter) changed the air intake, injectors, and lost some of the weight that I could get rid of. Cost just under $1000.
I can go a month on a tank of regular gas, If I take my bike to closer places (I hour or less) I find I can make my dollar go very far. I save enough money that I will be able to pay my mortgage off 8 months sooner. I found that I don't need a car as much as I thought when I was younger. Only reason I have it still is that buses are so bad, full of stinky people, and over all grimy. Public transit is over rated.
