Gas prices...out of control!

Gas prices are getting ridiculous...I'm mean I'm glad it isn't $10 a gallon like in the UK...but
I was running on E yesterday, went to fill up and diesel is $5.23 at the closest place near me...it cost me about $104 to fill it back up to full

hopefully it will get better.. when i start to drive .. at this rate il never afford it

why do americans call it gas?

surely gas is a gas..

whereas the 'gas' you refer to thats put in cars are 'liquid'?

please enlighten me often wondered.. and i get a shrug back

I guess we call it "gas"....short for gasoline? That's where "gas station" comes from too.

I'm sorry I don't mean it to be sarcastic...it's just that I never really thought about it. I'm assuming that's why though. I may be wrong!
