wtf do i do if there are multiple people camping. it takes too damn long to do the stuff to all of them. for example, a few months ago there was this group of like 6 t's on assault that were camping the hostage room or the upper vents every round. i kept telling them not to, and they were not backing down. they were still doing it, but they were ignoring me when i was talking to them, or if i said "dont camp there", they would move to the vents if they were in the hostage room or vice versa. i ended up banning a few of them, and then the rest of them left, but is there a faster way to do this? i came up with the idea of setting a "zone" on the map where if people on a certain team went there, they would be slayed, but i doubt there is a way to do that. if there is, how, and if there isnt, there should be.

i was bored and remembered this for some reason and figured i would ask before i forgot...

Here's how I roll on 174.5. I see hossie camping as lame, but perfectly legal. Afterall it is their objective to protect the hostages.

As for cts camping. If they want to sit outside and lose the round, be my guest.

yes, but they do it with machine guns and shotguns. very annoying if a ct... also, about ct's camping, if you are the last ct (which u usually are) and there are only 1 or 2 t's, u hide under the bridge whether u have 100 health or 10. i see why u dont mind ct camping. for those of us who try to get inside when ct, we usually die (its assault, and i have gotten used to it :P) and it gets very boring watching campers run back and forth under the bridge. (dont make some snide comment about the fact that i die too much. i know full well that i do. i also usually rushwithing a minute and a half of the beginning of the round, which sometimes gets me 5-7 kills, but always gets me killed.) i dont care about my rank. i have fun seeing how many kills i can get in a rush.

u didnt answer me question either . i still dont know what to do about 6 t's camping the same spot for sever map changes in a row.

Cts running out the clock is one thing, but staying outside until the t's are thinned out is another....There are only a couple of assualt no-no's in my book....
1. No spamming....nades, mic, or chat
2. No T upper vent camping...if a ct can make it up there fine, as long as he/she doesn't violate rule 3
3. No Cts camping all round and running out the clock...I.E. follow map objectives..there are more players than you camping noobs playing on the server, especially after you are the last ct. Waiting for backup that won't come until the next round is futile so suck it up and make an effort.
and last but not least...
4. No Ct glitching....by that I mean no running to the far end of bridge and walking across to top of building behind spawn.
As far as what Coop was talking about T's all camping in hostie room....buddy this is a T camping map and as frustrating as this tactic is.....they are following map objectives. Look on the bright side....bring a para in....lots of easy free kills and you always know where they will be lol.

If you have multiple CT's camping the upper vents in Assault, there are some things that can be done.

If they have been warned several times as you said they were, freeze the two end campers, and turn the one in the middle into a timebomb.
However these commands would take about 30 seconds to do...figuring out whos the first last and middles names are and using the right command and such...they would probably be gone by the time you finish [:-]

Thought I would mention this but, in my many random server findings, I have found on server that deals with campers really well. Basically as fair as I can tell it, if you stand in certain areas of the map for to long, what it will do is make you throw your guns away, like you drop all your guns, and it warns you to not camp. I don't know what it was called or where to get it, but I just thought I wouldmention it. As for spawn camping, *shrug* I play dust, dust2, so as long as they don't do it every round, I'am ok with it.

I was thinking about editing the Assault map, and using my version on the Spawnpoint servers, but I have yet to get around to it.

What I would do is fix all the glitches with invisable walls, and in the vent by the ladder there would be a broken Steam pipe, which does slight damage if you stand under it. This would fit the theme of the map, and deter Upper Vent campers.

Ok it's their job to camp inside, camping hosties room is cheap but well.. legal..

now, 6 of them camping there everyround ? I think it's a bit too much exagerated, beeing there I woulda warn several time, and then start slaying the whole t team, do that a round or two and they won't be camping there as much trust me although if there's too much ts outside hostie room, you might just want to slay the one camping in the room..

I must admit though, a bunch of ts camping the hostie room is rather amusing. I find that on 174.5 whenever there is a big bunch of t campers that everyone seems to rather enjoy it. A break from the monotony of the normal assault patterns. Like I said, lame but technically legal.

Yeah I typically camp under bridge as a ct. I do this because I'm rather well practiced at getting picks from long range with an m4. I do the same at the top door. If I feel safe enough I will go into the building but I feel I have the best chance of winning if I stay outside as long as possible and get as many picks as possible before moving in. As you know, all I ever do is play ct and I've had the chance to try just about every strategy possible. You say you don't care about your rank and neither do I, I do try to get the best kdr I can without being a whore just to give myself a challenge. You also say you like to see how many kills you can get on a rush but that you hate waiting. Obviously you're gonna have to make a choice, whether or not you hate the waiting more than you enjoy the rushing.

As for cts camping coop. I realize what you are saying, even I will do something about them if it is consistently the same person and they are consistently making no attempt to complete the objective. If it is just a random occurrance and they have no chance of winning...say a 1 on 5 or something, they can camp if they want. Not that it really does them any good seeing how they will get 0 dollars for the next round.

err hostage camping SHOULD be a rule. i know full well it is not, but they do it EVERY ROUND, and when i told them to move, they got a very bad attitude about it and started cussing me out, etc. umm.....it should be a rule that staying in the hostage room ALL ROUND EVERY ROUND is considered camping and they need to find something else to do. i realize that it is a very good strategy, but they generally pick off every single ct until there is one left against like 6 t's all in a small room with machine guns and shotguns. the assault map is one-sided against ct's anyway, but when the t's camp the hostage room or the vents every round, it is very near impossible for ct's to win. the only way i can think of cts to win would be to have about 4-6 ct's throw loads of flashbangs in there, rush in, and kill them all. few problems though: ct's usually dont last long enough to storm in there as a group. also, when they are blind, they spray DIRECTLY at the enterence to the door, and anyone that comes in is instantly killed.

I find it makes it easier for the cts to win. For one thing it leaves the building poorly covered so it's much easier to kill all the ts who aren't camping the hosties. Once they all know they're in there, it is easy to nade spam them like crazy because they're cramped in that room. And if they're doing this every round, I would expect the cts to come prepared. Another thing you can do is put snipers over by the top door to pick any ts wandering in the middle of the room through the office windows.But they're spamming the walls?Buy paras yourselves, you've got the advantage because youknow exactly where they are, cramped in thattiny room. I honestly have 0 problem with it. Hell I've had people say things like "most fun I've ever had playing css" because of the hostie camping. People telling me that they arefavoriting the server because I allowed it. Honestly, people seem to enjoy it. And the more ts camping the room, the more people seem to enjoy it.

The game is suppose to be fun for everyone. As for as cussing you out...warn them about that and then use the gimp command....it's not heavy handed, it deals with the problem and doesn't hurt gameplay. If the same people continue to abuse you verbally....don't put up with it. Most other players hate loud/foul mouthed jerks and will appreciate it when you deal with them.

That's a good idea, though on second thought, I don't think I have the power to do custom votes.
