PS3 HD problems

Today I got some HD cables for the PS3. The front of the TV says 1080i so in display settings I checked that bob (and only that box) and everything seemed fine. I loaded up GTAIV and it ran okay, but the screen seemed kinda squished and it was bigger then the screen itself (car names and city areas went off the screen.)

My Dad went and checked the 720p box, but unchecked my original 1080i, but instead of testing to see if it would work, he just set it and the screen went blank. Before the display could be reset he started clicking buttons.

Now when I turn the PS3 on I can't see anything at all. I know the "Standard" w/e box is always checked, but plugging in the original AV cables didn't help. Any solution?

Triple post, I know :(

Problem solved :)

Holding the power button resets the settings. And if anyone was wondering, no you can't edit the settings with the PSP.

I'm sure If I didn't search on google for as long as I did, many of you would have gladly helped (and laugh at me).

I suppose the moral of that story is not to let your dad near your expensive electrical gadgets ;)
