My wife and I love our Wii. We are mariokart masters! I also have mario galaxy, RE4, a few of the basic games and Zelda, which I have barely touched, but it looks awesome. I think it is a pretty kick-ass console.

The Wii is the first and only game that I have seen my wife play. Both of my sons, 6 and 12, play the console. We have just four games: Mario Galaxy, Supersmash Brothers Brawl, Wii Play and Wii Sports. Mario Kart will probably get purchased during the holidays and I'll be researching Mario Baseball to determine the fun factor.
The graphics aren't high speed low drag but pretty good in my opinion. If you're looking for FPS type of games then definitely the Xbox 360 or the PS3. I think Nintendo really hit the nail on the head with the Wii market. The Wii is small and compact making it easily movable from room to room. I do like its update feature where it does a system update on its own rather then when you turn it on and ready to play a game and the console goes through a long down load and system update like the PS3. £200??? Isn't that kind of expensive? I guess it's all in the exchange rate . . . I saw a bunch of Wiis at the Nintendo store in New York City for $249.99. White Pinnacle |

The wii is awesome!!!!
Seriously I havent owned a console since the N64 as with a PC who needed one. But the wii brings a whole new dimension to gameplay and as WP mentioned it is bringing whole new groups of people into gaming. My girlfriends parents bought one, so did her step brother, my mother got one! None of these people would ever have even played any other console let alone went and bought one. Obviously whether it is right for you or not depends on what type of game you like. But I would definately recommend it from my experiences. Especially the Wii Fit board, its a lot of fun and will give u gentle exercise. The games are good fun and can be challenging. |

either way tho I think its just a family/party console, most of the games I've ever played don't have extremely good depth or replay value unless u're playing with friends. If you're looking for some more complicated games to play and like mentioned about looking for a good FPS style game Xbox360 and PS3 are great consoles to pick up. I got the PS3 for the purpose of having Blue Ray and I got the Xbox360 for a lot of their great games. Wii I got for kicks and for when friends want to just drop by and do nothing lol

Just recently bought MarioKart for the Wii. I love the fact that you can play with players from around the world. You can't really communicate with them, but I think that's all right :] no worries about people cursing or inappropriate things. You can have friendly rivalries just by bumping each other off the road or shoot things to get back at them. ^.^
