Which ones for me?

Hey all! Ive played online games for years now. But ive always gone down the FPS route. Im not bothered about MMO's but my wife is looking for a game to play along that axis. She's very much into final fantasy and zelda and wants to know if there is something similar in the form of an MMO. Heres the thing. I dont want to be paying monthly subscription fee's for her to play. Are there any decent MMO's i can get her that dont charge a monthly fee?, or that charge a relativley low one. Its also worth a mention shes not bothered about WOW, she tried one of those two week trial things and wasnt too impressed (Although i did suggest that two weeks isn't long enough for her to make her mind up) But she was impressed with the graphics and what not.

- So let me just clarify the question. -

Which MMO's (if any) would you recommend that are either free, a one off payment or a very low monthly payment that resemble something like Zelda or FF. Or am i just shooting in the dark?

You could try Anarchy Online, Silkroad, Last Chaos, or RF Online.

Each on is free, with the option to purchase extra items through an item mall
Excellent Graphics from all 4.

Silkroad Online has a Chinese and European based theme.
Last Chaos is Fantasy Medieval.
Anarchy Online is somewhat Futuristic.
RF Online would be the closest thing to Final Fantasy out of the 4.

RF Online is a nice game, it is VERY grind intensive though, its basically go to X and kill 30 Y, get a little XP, now go find which monsters are best for you to grind XP on.

There are also other things to grind. If she likes PvP she will like the game. Its main element is PvP. I did have a level 53 Accretian Striker until I decided that It was taking up far too much of my time and I was addicted to luckboxes (A shop item you can buy, has the chance of getting an item that has a 100% success rate of upgrading items)

You dont start to really enjoy the game until level 15, well thats playing as an Accretian gunner anyway. Game really opens up at 30 and from there its all about the PvP.

Worth a go, but you need to give it a long while to see if you like it or not.
