wait till they release a trial for their new expansion The Kamael if they ever do. And you don't even have to buy it. NCSoft gave fileplanet.com the rights to let people download Lineage II Interlude (newest full client) and all you have to pay for is the monthly fee. The new expansion is also free on fileplanet.com

for me lineage is better then WoW but some ppl thinks WoW better then l2 i think its up to the person that plays it what he likes and not like.

dunno why l2 better than WoW i just got the feelings for it.
I played wow like 1 week and it feeled like it was something wrong.as i said try private serv before start when u know what game u wanna play.
if u like many quests play wow l2 has like 30 total quests its kinda sad sence i like to do quests also.
just grind sux even if its a part of game.

well from what i understand from the staff, its not allowed of mentioning private servers but yea i agree with you, you should tryon a private server and get a feel for it.

keep in mind rates are an important factor as well as people playing on the servers.

L2 is more of a PVP type of game, no formalities on whether to kill another player or not. The game has a lot of quests too but the small quest that takes little time gives you little while the big quests takes a long time and gives you a lot.

in WOW from what i understand, it takes a decent amount of time doing quests and the rewards are decent as well. and this is what i heard

"If someone is bugging you or killing you on a quest, you party them and do the quest together"

I believe the term is "being a carebear".

L2 isn't like that, if you dont like someone, kill or attempt to kill them, if u cant, get some friends lol.

last thing if i am correct, wow is divided into human alliance and orcish horde.
which probably means, if you got beef with someone in the human ally and your human, tough break.

lineage 2 you make a clan and then hopefully and ally(any name thats not taken already) and take castles and war other clans (you don't go red if u kill the other guy).

i whole-heartedly agree with final here
l2 versus wow is a huge difference, especially in terms of mass pvp, raids, and clans in general

given the limit on clan size in l2, you are much more choosy about who you recruit and who you dont, based on what kind of person someone is, and if you've ever had beef with them before. This results in a really close knit group of people that although grinding sucks, just hanging out with in ventrilo can be a whole lot of fun. You don't get this experience in wow (as far as i can tell, with mass recruitment and mostly just raiding.)

pvp in l2 was loads of fun, pvp in wow - not so much

however, given the messed up way ncsoft runs the retail servers, shelling out $15 bucks a month for it simply isnt worth it

yea i agree with the other guys, test an MMORPG on a private server before spending money that you would regret doing. Private servers also tend to be a lot more fun then the actual game cause the rates are changed. I could see why L2 is dying b/c everyone switched over to the private servers so the grinding is reduced someone due to the higher rates even if the rate is 15x, it can make a HUGE difference in the gameplay and make it more fun.

yeap, i play on a 10x server and its really fun, vent is also fun too, mostly drama but hey its part of the game lol.

When im not playing retail WoW, I play on a private server that's 15x rate and it completely takes out the long hours of questing and lvling and they also made the drops much better so you can get better gear, more money, etc. Sometimes the private servers for an MMORPG are more populated then the retail version.
