Have you heard what happened at finland? That shooting in school. That psyco shot few people. And It must be bad luck because my friend got shot in that school. Im happy he is still alive. He got bullet to leg and he was lucky because there was friends who helped him to run.
Why all these s**t things happens in Finland? I hope this wont happen in my school.
I think there is no one who could do that in my school, I HOPE!
And please dont think that Finland is place where this is normal, because its not!
I cant believe how can someone shoot others..
And lets hope for the best and lets hope also so these thing like this wont happen again!

Sadly, these things do happen and will continue to happen. I read somewhere that these incidents are not occuring more frequently than 25+ years ago, but we just hear about more of them as our world becomes smaller.

Yeah, I heard about this a couple of days ago. This kind of stuff shouldn't have to happen ANYWHERE. It's not fair for anybody, aspecially the families and friends of those who have been victims.

Yes i heard about them and i am sorry about what happened to your friend and i wish him a speedy recovery. But the truth is that some people are jsut retarded and have to shoot people to feel better about therm selves so i am very dissapointted that people would do that.

Awptimusprime, I have no idea, but if I remember right U.S said something that goes like this "This is typical for Finland" that really hurt us, because we aint like that, shooting around in school.. I live in Quebec and it's true, Dawson College was taken by a crazy guy who took pictures of himself on the net with is m4, these days, it seems that this kind of sad things start to happen in more and more countries in the world, we must find a way to stop that...

P.S. : I hope your friend will be alright, he was so unlucky , like a chance on 1 million...

The answer is not to destroy all fire arms... People have to learn to think outside of themselves. It's a sefish person who doesn't care about the lives of others and just opens up on people for no reason. I do hope your friend the best of luck.

actually its the destruction of absolute truth by modern universities. who tell their students that is there is no absolute truth then wonder why kids go psycho and shoot up a school. When you take the idea of right and wrong away, what else can you expect but a mixed bag of both right and wrong.

I realize this is an extremely touchy subject, and I sympathize with friends and family members of the victims, but I couldn't disagree more, assuming I'm not misunderstanding your opinion to a severe degree. Just in case I am, I'll apologize in advance.

Human beings know the difference between right and wrong by nature. It's curious you used the word psycho, because by definition, a clinically psychotic person is the only type of person without a conscience - simply meaning that a person who actually is psychotic literally cannot tell the difference between right and wrong.

A college professor (or anyone, for that matter) telling his or her students that the concept of right and wrong is mythical isn't to be blamed for something like this - now or ever. Telling a child something is one thing. Telling a grown adult something like this is completely different. People need to take responsibility for their actions, and we're all quick to find someone to point the finger at when things like this happen. That's something we all need to work on.

Again, my heart goes out to people affected by these immensely unfortunate goings-on.

reply - I agree that humans have the innate sense of right and wrong. what I am saying is that American (may be other places as well) are teaching that truth is not absolute. "Whats true for me may not be true for you" type of thing. Moral pluralism. The idea that not all "truths" are universal. To clarify my position on the matter - it utter foolishness to believe such a thing as moral pluralism.
