Player 1: Stupid f'in camper.
Titan: Watch your language please. Player 1: What is this a friggin Christian server? Titan: Spawnpoint rules. Please watch your language. Player 1: Can I say sh**? Titan: Last warning, if it is a curse or close to it, dont say it. Player: What a Je*... Titan mutes player 1. Titan: Guys, play and have fun, let others do the same, I really don't need the hassle. Player 2: Wow, ridiculous, I can kill people and blow their heads off, but I cannot say sh**. Titan: Watch your language please. Last warning for you too. Anyone else who wants to curse, consider this your last warning also. Player 3: Can I say god damned stupid server rules? Titan mutes player 3. Player 4: I like cheesecake with bacon. Player 5: Looks like someone has a power trip. I hate agressive admins. Titan mutes player 5. Player 2: Yeah he probably lives in his mothers basement, fat nerd. Titan kicks player 2. Player 6: Guys, he is just trying to enforce rules. Player 2 reconnects. Player 2: Talk about admin abuse. God damn idiot. Titan: If you have an issue, record a demo and send it to Spawnpoint. Until then, you have lost your right to chat while you play. Titan mutes player 2. Player 2 reconnects. Player 2: FU loser. Titan bans player 2. Player 5 reconnects. Player 5: Don't mute me again, I know John Spawnpoint. Titan mutes player 5. Player 5 reconnects. Player 5: You're such a loser. Titan bans player 5. Player 7: I don't see any rules, so technically, they didn't break any rules. Player 7: Where are the rules? There is no MOTD. Titan: Read the advertisements that spam during play. I can discipline someone for even an abbreviation of a curse word. Player 7: I ran my own community, and admins like you wouldn't be here. Titan: I could care less what community you ran, i'm telling you the rules. Player 7: Thats not very nice. Titan: Well I don't need the hassle from you, nor do I need you stirring up the rest of these guys. Play and have fun. If you have issue, goto Spawnpoint.Com and read the rules. Player 7: Lawl ( <- idiot internet geek term ), someone needs to calm down. Titan: If you continue to harass the hell out of me, I will mute you too. Player 7: But I didn't curse, and as long as I don't curse, I can say whatever I want. Titan: You are playing devils advocate, trying to give me as hard a time as possible, without cursing. Thats against the rules also. Player 7: Supposed rules. Titan mutes player 7. Player 7 reconnects. Player 7: You won't have your admin for long. Trust me. Titans Mom: Get out of that basement and get some sun! Player 7 leaves DM server and posts a pissy little whine in the "Report an Incident" forum, coating his post with the typical sugary sweet, I am an innocent victim diatribe. Poor player 7, Titan is such a bastard, and bad admin. Actually i'm not. Regardless of the fact that this is a game more geared towards the younger generation, plenty of us fogeys still play as well. While I follow the Spawnpoint rules, I think I tolerate less than alot of others. When I play, I just play. I don't brag when I kill, nor do I complain when I die ( unless that player is known to be a camping cheesy girl, in which I might make a comment or two ). I am usually silent when I play, unless addressed directly. I am 36 years old. Between work, and raising an 8yo daughter by myself, I have enough on my plate as it is. CS:S is my vehicle to relax, and I treat it as such mostly. Honestly, I could care less if you guys curse, use racist remarks, etc. It doesn't bother me *personally*, as I can just dismiss it. As a Spawnpoint administrator however, I agreed to abide by and enforce the rules set forth by Spawnpoint, and I will do so. It is a small price to pay for the ability to keep a server or two that I enjoy playing on, hassle free. What annoys me most is the mob mentality that Xtreme mentioned in a prior thread. If you see a player being admonished for some type of infraction, and it has nothing to do with you, stay out of it. I sound harsh yes, but nothing gets harder to deal with than an issue with one person, turning into an Admin vs. 5 people scenario. Whether you are speaking in the nicest tone, or cursing up a storm, adding your two cents only servers to stir up the crowd. If you truly have issue with a SP rule, or an administrator, bring it to the forums. Doing so in game allows the other unruly folks to gain courage, and start a mass protest. I got news for you, I have 0 problem sending 4-5 packing in one clip. 95% of the time I have a demo recording the moment I start play. 5% of the time, my Alzheimers kicks in, and I realize I forgot to start one recording. ![]() In closing, if you think i'm abusive, I could care less. As long as I cover my behind with the powers that be, i'm good. Now if you'll forgive me, I have been in this basement for 9 days straight. I need to get my 487lb behind outside into the sun and grab another 6 pack of Dew and some Cheetos. T

Typically, I just want to make sure that I have given ample warnings, etc...otherwise i'm stuck yet again, defending my actions in private.
Know whats funny too? Compared to alot of the other SP servers I play on, I actually am one of the more lenient administrators. I have seen slaps/slays/burning/kicking/banning for the smallest of things. Its mildly ironic that I have a reputation for being abusive. ![]() One of the other issues I have is camping. Initially I was told that Spawnpoint rules are, NO CAMPING, no matter what the server is. Quite often, one side will start getting the worse of things, and then you have 3-4 people ducking behind boxes in/near where they spawned at the beginning of the round. I am notorious for enforcing spawn camping, or just horrendous camping in general. I seem to have most of my issues with players regarding this supposed "tactic". I see it enforced sometimes, and other times people are allowed to camp T spawn on Dust 2 for 2 minutes straight with an awp. The lack of administering this rule across the board leads to uncertain situations at times. On the DM server, we have a few regulars and alot of visitors that like to find a nice cozy corner and AWP people as they spawn. Then they say " I was moving around", yet they just killed me in that same location 4-5 times as I spawned. That is a tricky situation. Technically they are camping people for cheap and easy kills. Also however, they have an AWP and shouldn't be expected to run full speed through the map with such a sniper rifle. What are your opinions on that? As has been mentioned numerous numerous times, the DM server has become nothing but a huge AWPfest, thus driving alot of regulars away over the last few months. I am not sure of a solution except to limit the AWP to 2 or 3 per team maybe? 10-15 Awps on one map are way too many.

I don't know how you successfully admin and play on a DM server, where you have no breaks. Sometimes, I can barely keep the peace on Assault and I am dead 80% of the time and therefore have lots of time to type.
Hooray for TITAN! ![]()

assault is easier to admin on than a DM would be, I would have to say. I have been an admin on DoD which is so much a DM and also in 1.6 with amx mod. I have to disagree about the admin abuse if it is a printed rule then it is enforceable but if it is one that is not printed then it is admin abuse. I don't have a problem losing stats or fun time to be admin cuz admins are there to enforce rules and keep the jerks out of the server so everyone can have fun.

it really aggravates me when idiots start lamenting about not being able to swear. I mean, I swear in RL when I'm really pissed off at something, and I don't need to type out what I say lol. They could just do that if they really have to let it out of their system, instead of poisoning everyone's mind.
It's not like swearing makes you "cool" or better than anyone else. If anything, it's rude, disrespectful and unnecessary. And when they argue with you for telling them not to do so, it makes them look stupid anyways. Silly noobs ![]()

Titan,
Welcome to the world of adminning. Where cheats and noobs think its abuse when you ENFORCE the rules set down by the Spawnpoint Management. What's worse is what i call "Regunoob" who reckons he knows better than any abusive admin and that the rules don't apply to him and that every server admin is a jerk and not being able to swear sucks and why shouldn't he be allowed to glitch, swear or abuse players and admins alike. I'm past the warning stage with regunoobs. It's slay / kick / ban now. If they have played 70 hours (is that it? surely a "regunoob" should eat sleep and sh*t on the server) they know ALL the rules and are therefore obviously rebelling against the system. Deal with one or two "most harshly" to restore order. And if mr regunoob complains then he better make sure he's not the subject of massed admin debate ![]() I know and understand what you go through Joe ![]()
