Star Craft 2

Has anyone seen the demo, especially the 22 minute long one, on Star Craft 2? I was a bit dissapointed in the whole thing. After nearly a decade of waiting for a sequal, it looks like something that would have been cutting edge about four years ago...

And I know it's not done, but even in an alpha stage, the game cannot change too much from the final product. You can't have Super Mario as your alpha and get Hal Life 2 as your final game. Even if you assume theycompletly overhaul it, I can't imagine it being totally different from the demo.

It looks like the WarCraft 3 engine. Not too shabby though, I can't wait for it to come out.

BliZz. hasn't said anything about a new race on the official Site, though I have heard rumors there will be a Kerrigan based race.

Since that intel came from the same place that said original SC/BW servers will be taken down, with Blizzard said would not be happenening in the FAQ on the official site.

I don't think there will be a 4th race, it would complicate things too much in my opinion.

How many races are in StarCraft II?

In StarCraft II, players will see the return of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races. Our goal is to ensure that all the factions in the game play even more distinctly from one another than in the original StarCraft, while still maintaining the fine balance that helped make StarCraft such a classic. We're also introducing a number of new units to each race, as well as modifying some of the familiar units returning in StarCraft II. With these design refinements and the new features we have planned for the single-player and multiplayer elements of the game, StarCraft II will offer a next-generation StarCraft experience.

I really can't wait.

Although starcraft 2 does look really nice and all, and the units are pretty much all getting redone. It just doesn't..look like starcraft. Sure all the new units are going to be there, and its going to add a whole new level of gameplay (some protoss units can walk over the cliffs now), from what i hear they're not adding a fourth species, which was one of the main reasons i was waiting for starcraft 2 to come out (zerg / toss hybrid...mmmm).

I just hope they dont make it like warcraft 3. Where the starting units have 600hp and do only 20 damage per shot. Then later in the game you get a hero that can take down 24 units without a problem.

But i still am waiting for this to come out. With a track record like blizz's, its kinda hard to mess it up.
