Hannibal as a general. Considering he crossed the Med Sea and the Pyrenee and Alps Mountains to attack Rome from the landward side was amazing. Also consider logistically, he had little if any support from Carthage after he left Africa. Rommel would be second from this list. His situation was the reverse as he led the Afrika Corps in Northern Africa with little if any support from Germany. His supply line was basically cut off also.
Say what you want about Hitler. As a leader, he was able to bring Germany from the economic abyss of the Weimar Republic to economic and military success. Technologically, the Third Reich was way ahead of the other European powers and the U.S. Unfortunately, heand his croniescommitted horrific atrocities. OPREP |

AND Hitler? Amazing. I'm just kidding. As for leaders, no Caesar? And Stalin sure did lead Russia for what, only 31 years? People didn't really like him much, but he and his industrial reformations or five year plans led Russia to become a superpower (though it took three of them and they were mainly Trotskys or Lenin's [don't remember which] ideas). Winston Churchill was also a fairly good leader. Abraham Lincoln led our nation past the civil war and certainly was one of best leaders. As far as Generals go, you might want to think about: Napoleon Gengis Khan Robert E. Lee (though he did fight for the South he got some great victories on the north with his brillant strategies) Sun Tzu (amazing strategist). Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, I don't have the best memory)

I would have to disagree with the topic of Stalin. in the Russian Revolution Stalin was Idol while Trotsky Led the Red army againts the Tzar's White army (wich inculded canada britian and US), Stalin eventualy over threw Trotsky and had him assasinated......that isnt a great leader OR general considering befor Operation Barbarossa (German invasion of Russia) Stalin being a fool killed his experienced and well battle hardend Officers and political members.

Stop saying Hitler, I don't call someone who committed suicide in a bunker while his country got totally invaded a top leader. Germany is still counting the cost of that asshats actions.

I'm happy someone agrees with Gengis Khan. He's seriously been the most succesful at conquering and leading. For those of you who don't know his story, check it out in Wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gengis_Khan
There was a really interesting documentary about him on the discovery channel last week. He's lived a very impressive life.

every1 is focuses on the fact he has hitler there lol.
no1 noticed he has BUSH FOR TOP 3???!! I mean come on yea right. A leader is suposed to help his peopl, not get millions laid off, raise gas prices to astronomical highs, and do everything in his power to make his friends rich, or to cheat in the election. along with starting wars with just about every country. |
