Hackers love Spawnpoint Servers

I don't know why, but for some reason Hackers seem to flock to Spawnpoint servers. In the past 2 days, I've seen 8 hackers be demo'ed and banned. Now I've played my share of CS , CSS and DoD to know that one hacker a week is normal. But 8 hackers in 2 days? That's ludicrous, and once more I think Valve should do something about their VAC 'security' if it can be called that. It would be ridiculous for an admin to be present all-day-every-day, so I was wondering if the Evolutiongaming.nl server (in particular) , could get a 'Voteban/kick' option. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with a hacker, especially when you have to hunt down an admin, who then has to drop what he/she is doing to kick/ban the hacker. Anyways, just a thought, let me know what you all think.

It has a lot to do with the free guest passes

If you have an account that was banned for hacking, you can use the guest pass and now you have a temp account that isnt banned

Just keep an eye out, and expect a lot more hackers to come our way

And by the way, my record of hackers reported and banned in one day is 6, that was a fun day[:@]

I think there's a voteban and votekick option in the Mani Admin plugin, but it's been disabled. I have to agree with fleet though - a voteban option with a high majority vote limit would be excellent on these servers where hackers seem to frequent (as fleet said, evolutiongaming.nl seems to be one of them, I ran into 6 yesterday and submitted demos on 4).

Voteban causes problems of its own and is open to abuse.

Also, if you voteban the culprit and don't get a demo he's free to frequent any one of 50 or so OTHER Spawnpoint servers [:@]

To all the admins out there who get annoyed when your hunted down, and have to go ban someone, why dont you just teach the regulars how to demo? I dont know about you, but everytime the situation arises, Ill show the person how to record one, and where to send it. That should keep down the annoying "HELP, HACKER" incidents over time, because theres only so many hackers out there, and it doesnt give the opportunity for the same hacker to leave and return.

Unfortunatley, the majority of the players are just too lazy to do they demo. I cannot tell you how many times I have taught people how to do demoes, and idealy they will use them to get rid of hackers. In reallity, the players just want the hacker gone, they do not want to take the time to make the demo.

I do think that EVERY player should know how to do a demo, so if you do not know how, just read this:

There do seem to be a lot of hackers about at the moment and they do love Spawnpoint servers, but thats because the servers are great. These things tend to go through phases so it should calm down in a bit.

I don't like voteban/votekick, it tends to get misused. Also even fewer players would bother to record demos and submit them if you could just votekick, meaning the hacker could be hanging around bothering the servers for much longer before getting banned. Demo submissions and a centralised ban list is the best long term solution to the hacker problem.

How to get more people to submit demos is something we could do with discussing. I can't ban them all myself, although I'm trying, so we need the regular players to take some time to record demos and help keep the servers hacker free.

If hackers love spawnpoint, they better love buying new steam IDs. Spawnpoint is one of the most (the most in my opinion) fair and fun gaming communities out there. Maybe if we keep globally banning people that you, in our community, are so gracious to demo, Valve will be able to afford to give us some decent updates due to all the new steam IDs purchased.Keep sending us the demos and we will keep adding those people to the global ban list.

The other day, I was demoing 1 guy for aimbotting, and in the same demo caught 2 more hackers, 1 was bunny hopping, and the other was no recoil (I think... if not it was another aimbot). I was like omg... wtf?

I hear alot of players complaining that there aren't enough admins around to ban the hackers. Whenever I join the dust_2 24/7 pub (aka the old deviant pub), there is ALWAYS something wrong going on. Either a bunch of idiots TKing everyone on purpose, hackers, or mic spammers, you name it. It's really getting bad.

things really are going about as good as they can be right now. If there were a voteban/kick option then it WOULD be abused. On the other hand if we take demos we still have to deal with the hacker until we get an admin to get rid of him/her right?

I have noticed this also. I find it very intersting that in the past few days.. I have noticed more hackers now than ever. It is ridiculous that people most stoop to such a low level[&o]
