My Brain obvoiusly isn't working.
Is this a "chat" programme similar to ventrillo / Teamspeak II. If so what's the advantages over either of the other 2?? Rob

IRC is more like a multi-player notepad. mIRC just makes it easier to access. lol.
Are there any clients for Linux? I think I might have heard of some before. If you're new to IRC and have not found a client, there are many to choose from. The most used and most famous one used for Windows operating system is called "mIRC". It was developed by Khaled Mardam-Bey as a freeware (?) client and it does request you pay $20 once your time is up. Though if you wait patiently at start-up it will let you use mIRC even if you have not purchased a copy. You can get mIRC from the website [link=http://www.mirc.com/]http://www.mirc.com/[/link] and click the "Download mIRC" link on the left navigation. There are many servers to choose from in different areas of the World. If you really like mIRC--One of the best advantages of mIRC is the ability to customize anything you want. In mIRC you can create scripts which allow you enhance your chatting experience. Also there are many full scripts, addons, snippets, and tutorial from [link=http://www.mircscripts.org/]http://www.mircscripts.org/[/link] Another chat client for Linux that is widely popular is "Bitch-X". Saddly I hardly know anything about Linux or this client. ![]() I hope this helps some.

if you are a FireFox user, you can use the Chatzilla extension. It opens an IRC window from Firefox and is totally free. I use it instead of mIRC because I didn't want to pay the $20 when the trial period was up
