I got a question. I don't mind having clans coming to a server but what do you do when a clan recruits so many people that it now has 20 members and counting. I have had them tell me how they run the server now. I have had other clans of 6-8 people who have quit comming to the server because of this one clan. Any suggestions?

let them know ur the boss is all i can think of

on the serveri am an admin on we have alot of clans that come daily. some come regualr clasn have 2 people in them...and some have 6-10.

none of them have given me problems though.

just do all in your power to show them ur the boss is all i can say..

AI is a clan of 40 with about 10 recruits. We mostly pub in our own servers but I understand where you're coming from. We have a few "less desirable" people who we kicked from the clan for one reason or another and it never ceases to amaze me, but guess who they end up hooking up with? There are like 3 former AI member clans out there now. Some of them we are on somewhat friendly terms with and it always ticks me off that they come to our servers and act like they own the place. Like they think they still own the server even though they up in left (sometimes up and left with some help...).

I can't tell you what to do, but I will say that we've pretty much ended up banning all of those players. Eventually they'll pester you enough you'll wanna kill em and you'll just come out and say what you should have said to begin with. Then of course, they end up saying stuff they shouldn't and get banned. I guess all in all - you could just skip the middle part and ban them from the get go. LOL.

If the whole clan is harassing you, and you are admin, use the super handy 'Mute' command on them. If they all wear the same tag and it isa unique tag, you can hit them all at once. Only do it this way if it is everyone though...

ma_mute "PHXX" for example, will mute anyone in the server with [PHXX] anywhere in thier name. That'll show em.

I've run into the problem with clans trying take over our servers in the past too. I've found that the faster you deal with it the better. Generally, if a clan starts trying to claim that they run the server, a few slays and temp bans areenough to remind them and other players who the admins are and that pretending to be in charge and trying to push the real admins around is going to end very badly for them (one dumbass got a 6000 minute ban after repeatedly claiming his clan ran the server, trying to threaten and order around other players, and threatening to ban me...apparently he didn't grasp the connection between the server name and my clan tag). When I see clans trying to move in and take over a server I inform them in no uncertain terms that they are welcome to play there as long as they respect other players and the admins, and that team stacking and treating our server as their private practice area will not be tolerated. You get the occasional group of morons who refuse to abide by the rules and insist on disrespecting admins, but once they realize that you will rearrange the teams to keep things even no matter how much they want to stack, and will temp and perm ban thier members for being dicks, they generally either clean up thier act or go try to find another server to take over.

Very true. Clans that claim to run a server they do not shouldn't be allowed in the server.

The only exception of course, is the well known fact that -TcA- took over Fy_only, and still runs it from the grave.

i decided to form my own clan to basically run them out because of loosing. so far i have kicked a few for abusing players not in there clan

If you are the admin...be the admin....if it bothers you that much just follow the traditional admin rules....slap-slay-kick-temp ban-perm ban....Do it to them all at once or one at a time...they will get the picture eventually....you sound reasonable to me, just do what you think is right

Sometimes the more you back down the worse it gets. If you know your right...take action. Your the Admin...your the boss. I dont care if there are 50 guys. It's your server. Just keep in mind...You have to answer to a higher authority..Tom!
