Square or Wide Screen

Which is best for playin CSS Square or widescreen ?? I've got a 22" and a 22" widescreen. I do allot of graphics so my square screen works best in this area (eg. circles view like cirles and not oval) but when it comes to games is a widescreen better ?

Widescreen is best for films. For gaming, I prefer a standard square

The standard square screen is better because you can get a better view of a whole map instead of having to move your mouse a little extra to see.

Widescreen for me, without a doubt. I'll never go back. I use a 24" Samsung wide, and play all of my games at 1900x1200 resolution.

I have tested both a regular square LCD and a widescreen side by side. I get a wider field of view from the widescreen. I can see a lot more playfield, that would not normally be viewable on the square. Provided the game supports widescreen, which CS:S does, and so do a lot of the newer games, I would go that route.

I like my games on a widescreen television, and a 22" 1680x1050 monitor

Lg 22'' Flatron Wide for me. It needs to be a personnal choice, play with the one you like the most and that you're the most confortable with.

Widescreen all the way, i still use my old Square 17" in my monitor setup, but mainly for non-main applications, chat windows etc.

Samsung 20" Syncmaster, 2ms response ftw :P

I used to use only square screens, but recently i taxed the new widescreen monitor from a new family PC (they dont care, they arent pr0 gamers ), and CS runs perfectly. More headshots more kills!

i much prefer the square screen i find it a lot easier to game on ude to that little extra bit of mouse movement needed on a widecreen.

I never notice any extra mouse movement required on my 19" widescreen, as long as I'm in a wide resolution...if I'm in a 4:3 aspect ratio on it then yeah my mouse will be more sensitive left/right than up/down but it doesn't bother me

I prefer wide these days - although it makes games that don't support widescreen kinda weird...640x480 looks odd on a 1440x900 monitor

Wide seems more natural than standard (it ain't a square...4:3 )

Currently using a Samsung SyncMaster 906BW (19" Wide 1440x900, 2mb, 2000:1)....but I really want a 24"

I got lucky Mr. Me, caught a Samsung 24" on clearance at Staples about 6 months ago for $299! O.O

Open box item, but you can tell that the person didn't even unpack it, so I bought it.

It's all about preference, one person might like a game better on a 24 inch widescreen while another might like it better on a 12 inch square screen. :/ I say play around with it, different res. different monitors, and see which one you like best and stick with it. I personally like it played on my 36" Widescreen upstairs. :O

17" widescreen at home but have 2 laptops I also play on as well.
