Default Is it TOO '1337'?

I got bored tonight, since it is 4am and all servers are deserted, so I started browsing the web. I took a visit to a site I havent checked out in a while, VoodooPC.com

I noticed they had some nifty new machines, like Home Theaters and the likes. The one that relly got my attention though is the "OMEN Elementals"
I checked out a review on this machine, and found that it does not ship like normal computers would. No, this machine gets a steel reinforced case with wheels and handles, and plenty of hard foam insulation. Why buy a machine thats going to cost 100 dollars to ship? Well, this is no ordinary gamer computer. It is plated, inside and out, with 24K Gold. This machine costs more then some cars, brand new cars. With a pricetag of over $14,000, this is the most expensive modern gaming machine I have ever seen.

If you configure it with EVERYTHING Voodoo has to offer, including Speakers, monitor, mouse, games,(240 dollar keyboard?!)and so on, the grand total comes out to:
$25193.75

Yea, this machine is just a little too '1337' for the avarage budget.

Check it out: [link=http://www.voodoopc.com/system/quotekitchen.aspx?productID=1090]http://www.voodoopc.com/system/quotekitchen.aspx?productID=1090[/link]#

Why anyone would spend that kind of money on a gaming maching is beyond me....I have a machine I built myself for under $1500 that plays all the games out there maxed out....why need more? Instead of blowing 10 or more computers worth of money up front for something that will be obsolete in 2 years, why not upgrade as you go? It is definitely funny what someone will spend on something. Personally I think they create a market like that for the stinking! rich people that want to blow money on their kids, especially if it islistedas a gaming machine. My comp has:
3500+ AMD 939 socket
2gb matched pc3200 ram (4 times 512)
PCI-X BFG 7800GT OC
SoundBlaster X-fi
SATA 200gb HD
480w Thurmaltake powersupply

FEAR, HL2, Quake4, Doom 3, Farcry all run maxed out and with the extra fans in my case, the card doesn't hardly get warm. When I can't max out the games, well then it will be time to upgrade. Last time I had to updgrade my motherboard and processor because AGP is dead and all the best and newestvideo cards were all PCI-X. (not to mention that PCI-Xis far superior) $105 for motherboard MSI k8n neo4, $349 for BFG 7800GT OC (thanks New Egg!), $200 (appr) for 4 sticks of the 512mb pc3200 ram (400mhz and matched). I used all else from old machine. Total upgrade cost of a little over $700 with tax. You only have to do this about once a year to stay inline with the newest games. A little math says I will be upgrading for years if not decades before I spend $25,000.
When my friends come over to play, they now say it looks better than an XBOX360 on Call of Duty 2.
If you aren't a "techy", Alienware has a reputation for putting out some screaming gaming machines for far less money then whatMr_ME_llwas talking about for far less money.

As cfar as I have read, you can ship that computer back to Voodoo PC, shipping covered by them, and they will install the latest hardware in it for you free of charge, and ship it back to you at thier expense. I think this deal goes valid for the length the wearrenty is on the machine, so instant upgrades forever for free is a good deal to me. though there might be a catch like you can only send it in once a year or somtin..i dont know.

And yes, 8 ghz, I have a cryogenic freezer as a computer case :]

VoodooPC > Alienware and Falcon
BUT
A lotof the money you spend on any of those high class machines goes into the paint. It's really really pretty paint though . Voodoo builds thier computers much better then compeditors from what I have seen. Very good style also, I love em. Alienware looks like a toy.

Random Fact:
In the movie 'Grandmas Boy', the laptop the girl was using was a VoodooPC, and that one creepy ass guys' computer was a Voodoo OMEN
That movie was one big commercial, all product placment. He never even used that XPS laptop in the movie but it was always there..
