heh. i love case mods. i did my first about 2 years ago. took me three months to complete (since at the time i worked 18 hours a day). i cut ONE fan port, all the rest of the work was sanding down the cases original paint, and then priming, soft sanding, prime once more (i didn't want rusting cause i lived on a headland on the coast). then applied about 32 layers of paint (black as a base got two coats), then some blues, etc. finally, the icing on the cake, one Linux penguin, hand drawn, sitting on a windows logo(Linux is sooooooo much eaiser to use through the GUI. Command line is a diff story). The top of the case, has inlaid japenese text (again, english to japanese translation took three weeks to verify, and the japanese characters were hand drawn and not sprayed) thats red with some sprakle clear coat, with a complete jet black as the background for the text (clear coat sparkle added to the black as well). its almost a giant picasso meets andy dick, rofl. but its beautiful. im doin six diff ones now, layered, hand drwan and hand painted. my plexi side case cover has been spliced in to two this sheets, took a router and carved out a design i drew, in laid neon rope that i got from an aftermarket car specialty store. looks sick

Sounds lovely, take a picture and post it.
Er is sick meaning good or bad in this context, I went for good but can't be sure. Back to the post. It is a tricky situation for steam, they need new customers/money, so I think their changes are more marketed to new players. They have to keep the money coming in, which is why you get games advertised on "steam update news" that are not news or games you want to buy (though I do like Space Empires). They do have the ability to reach consumers of computer games and they are going to use it more and more. How long do you expect a software manufacturer to provide free updates, supports etc for £30 or whatever you paid?. This is why when you sign up to certain internet companies in Romania you get CS free with it, they're getting as much cash as they can.
