My Day

As you may remember I am in a theatre for placement at the moment, for two weeks.
Yesterday my 'higher archery' was in surgery with me, (he was "assisting" I put that in speech marks,
Because he didn't do a fucking thing), anyway, he was laughing and joking, and the main theatre assistant was waiting for a sample, me being new did not realise the procedure of having to wait for the surgeon to place the specimen in a pot. She was not allowed to pick it up (I thought she was sterile, if she wasn’t, why was she touching the equipment).
I told her that the specimen was on the table in front of her, my higher archery pulled me to one side (this is basically what kicked it off), and asked me why I told her that,
and told me that she has to wait... blah blah, then he started laughing and joking once again, with everyone, myself included, he said something to me (which I didn't find amusing or nice anyway) and I responded with
'Shut up'; but it wasn’t a horrible shut up, it was a jokey shut up, you know....

This morning he called me into my office and again brought up the subject as to why I told her about the specimen. I thought I was being helpful, and considering they have not told me a dam thing aside from where the fire exits are , I really don't think they are in a position to tell me off for trying to be helpful.
Fine, you don't like enthusiastic people, fuck you.
I could have got really stressed with him, and called him something worse, I have had to hold my tongue a lot on this placement. He also told me that I 'got up a
few peoples backs' and they were basically sick of me.

However the annoying thing is, there were at least 3 people the day I got there giving me evils and not being nice to me in the first place, before I had done anything at all. I am a somewhat loud, and I would like to think, chatty, open and funny person, however it has to be said 75-80% of all these people (private hospital bare in mind), are fucking snobs. There are plenty of surgeons I like and I look up to there,
But the nursing staff and the theatre assistants (there are exceptions as I said) are assholes.

I then told him that I thought he was joking with me, he then cut me off, and said "There is a time for jokes and a time to be serious", Then I tried to explain again that he was joking also with me, (surprisingly he didn't acknowledge that). He then proceeded to hush me, with a loud bellow and tell me that "I AM ABOVE YOU, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THIS".

From then on I stopped listening to him, has he never heard of mutual respect?
I don't give a fucking crap if you’re the queen, I would still treat you as a regular person, just because you have a degree, and a few letters in front of your name, It doesn't make you better than me.

I was being an enthusiastic student, trying to help and he screws at me. He is more pissed off at the fact
that I apparently 'Told the assistant what to do', bullshit.
Anyway rant over. Thank fuck I'm going to the wards on Monday.
