Word has it, they have shutdown. One of the leaders in my clan has a friend on the inside of KillerPings, and he said that they have shut down, took all the money and ran. If you have killerpings as a server host, and your server has been down since yesterday, theres your answer...time to find a new host company...

I saw this coming, there uptime was never very good. Can they get in some sort of trouble for this? I'm sure a lot of people are going to try to get these people in trouble. Is there any update on this now?

Yes they can, its consumer fraud...if you payed for their service, write to the attorney general in Illinois, and if they get enough letters, they will investigate. There were no refunds. You could class-action lawsuit, but that would take too long and the killerpings people would be long gone...so best bet is to write to the attorney general in Illinois.

Yes, their HQ was in Chicago as well as one of their Databases. What they did was against the law, and he can take care of it. They commited consumer fraud or something like that, and if we get enough people to write to the attorney general, we can get an investigation launched and eventually get KillerPings in HUGE truble.

hello and FYI -

I contacted AmericanExpress to get my auto payment stopped. they had the balls to charge my account the last day of the year.....the first day of the year they shut down their web page and closed shop.

There is a Fraud investigation by American Express on Killerpings.com

i doubt anything will come of it but i do know that Amex Takes this stuff VERY seriously.

Thanks GuruJanitor for the early heads up. We just made our payment and were fortunate enough that PayPal refunded the money after filing a dispute.

You may also want to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at Federal Trade Commission - Home.
