i LOVE to make prank phone calls. one time i was on the phone with one guy for 10 minutes!!! oh that one i wish i could have recorded. sometimes i ask for jose. another time i called a some1 and just started yelling at them for cheating with my wife.(poor lady)

Certain prank phone calls can be funny indeed. I grew up listening to the Jerky Boys, and enjoyed some of their tapes quite a bit. Doing the pranks myself? Never my style personally. I really don't take enjoyment disrupting someone elses day, and wasting some of my own, for some foolish fun. To each his own.


PS: I would reccomend that if you have a NEED to prank, leave it to businesses, and good natured fun. Causing a potential disruption in someones relationship or marriage sucks. Whether or not the spouse involved believes you or not, you can seriously dent a relationship between two people who formerly may have not had a problem. Just a thought.

Imagine you got a prank phone call - wouldn't you be at least a little bit ticked off? As irritating as they are to people's houses, if it's to a business or something I don't think that's quite so bad as long as it's not offensive. If it's just a little joke it can be funny. But it's as irritating as hell to the person on the other end.

I would only do it to someone I know fairly well and disguise my voice. That might be funny because you could set something big up, and expand on your prank when you next see them in real life.

did you know that prank phone calls are interpreted by law enforcement as telephonic harassment?

just 2 weeks ago i investigated a telephonic harassment complaint that lead to the prosecution of 5 boys ranging in age from 13 to 15. they started off with the normal "is your refrigerator running" and went all the way to "I'm outside and I'm gonna get you". now at 3AM i really don't like getting called out of bed to be yelled at by some guy and his wife about snot nosed little punks who wanna ruin there night and now mine.

within less then 15 minutes i had all 4 numbers they used to call this house and raise this working man and his wife out of bed who both by the way had to get up and go to work at 5. i myself had just pulled 16 hours and wasn't home for 2 hours when i was awakened by the bat phone. they had gotten a total of 56 phone calls in a 2 1/2 hour period making it 56 counts of telephonic harassment. they were recorded phone calls by the complaining party and i knew one of the kids by name. so i went to his house only to find he was sleeping over at a friends birthday party where i found all 5 sleeping. i woke up 5 sets of parents hauled them all down town for a long coming to Jesus meeting resulting in 56 charges being filed against them and me getting to go back to sleep around noon.

the district attorneys office found it quite amusing that i asked to prosecute them until i called him 56 times and BAM he seen the light. i got 5 convictions on a deferred sentence resulting in 400 hours of community service and 5 sets of parents having to go out of there way.

now these 5 young boys will be serving community service till somewhere in 2009 and had to write a letter to the family they tormented.

what you get get the numbers of pay phones (usually it says somewhere inside them or atleast used to i think they removing some of them) and then wait until someone comes, then call it from a landline or mobile and they pick up the fone can be a right joke if u do some good prank just dont get caught and yr fine. ;P

well im sorry for this prank that was pulled on you HitMan. but i havent done it in a while, or early in the morning. also i never called 56 times in one night, i dont think iv ever prank 25 times altogether. oh and me calling the lady and yelling at her was well a little bit different then some of you think. in my short time as a phone pranker i noticed something very noteable. i would have to dial at least 5 numbers before i would get a real number. we were just dialing radomly. we would mostly call my friends friends(but my friend was very bad at remembering phone number)

Well, nice job. They deserve it for what they did. Unlucky about the hassle you were put through though.

prank calling is such an idiotic thing to do. might as well trip random people in the mall, or hack on a cs server.......only the person doing it appreciates it. fun at others expense. get a hobby and stay out of trouble.

I'm not sure if this can be considered as prank phone calling but it sure can be amusing!

I hate telemarketing. When one of those people call trying to sell something, it doesn't matter what it might be, just act interested. Lead them to think you're actually considering buying whatever it is they're selling. Make sure to ask a lot of questions, hard ones, before letting them know that in fact you're not interested.

It may sound like cruel and unusual punishment to some people but I'm sure we can all agree that those phone calls can be rather annoying. So please, aid me in the cause by bringing down one telemarketer at a time!

And remember, you're doing us all a favor keeping them on the line. The more time you spend enjoying the phone call the less people they get to annoy!

Perhaps I am just too old to understand the latest generation...

While I do agree that telemarketers can be downright annoying sometimes, I simply just say not interested and hang up my phone. They have taken up 10-15 seconds of my day, which really doesn't amount to much.

I'd much rather give an abrupt "no thanks", than play around with their time, just to "harass" them back. I do keep in mind that they are just trying to make some cash in their area of employment.
