prank phone calls

i remeber in school about once or twice a year we would have a prank bomb threat. but we got to go outside-------------------------------------------------------

Sorry but I think you're extremely sad if you make prank phone calls... get a life. Go practise your head shots or chat a girl up, or a boy for that matter. Weirdos.

The local radio station here do some really clever "prank calls".

What they do is call up a local chinese takeaway and give them an order. They then ask the guy to read the order back to him but just as he's about to start he asks him to hold on a minute.

He then calls the next chinese takeaway and states that he's puting his friend on to read the order.

Takeaway 1 reads the order to takeaway 2 who then also notes down the same order.

Takeaway 2 then tells takeaway one that it'll be 20mins or so and where does he want it delivered. Takeaway 1 not realising says "what do you mean delivered?"

And so it goes on.......

They do it with Chinese takeaway, pizza places, fish & chip shops and it's hilarious.

Moral of the story is leave it to the media and then YOU won't have Officer Hitman chapping your door

Did you know that when emergency services (police, fire engines, ambulances...) are responding to the "prank" call, there might actually be some REAL emergency near by???

I've seen this happen when I was in H.S. too. When some kids wanted to get out of a final exam, they did this!

Definitely, not cool!

lol when i was like 12 we called this kid in my school that we knew owned a llama farm and told him that a llama got loose and was in our pool. he freaked and said him and his dad would bring the pickup and save it and asked us where we lived haha

suppose thats the downside to a career in llamas :/

My friend one time was yelling at this guy at steak and shake saying that there was mayo in his french fries and that he was deathly allergic to it and then he told the poor guy that he had 7 kids and this guy was hanging on my friends every word and then he says he didn't find our order and that he can't help us out n e more it was rather funny

just 2 weeks ago i investigated a telephonic harassment complaint that lead to the prosecution of 5 boys ranging in age from 13 to 15. they started off with the normal "is your refrigerator running" and went all the way to "I'm outside and I'm gonna get you". now at 3AM i really don't like getting called out of bed to be yelled at by some guy and his wife about snot nosed little punks who wanna ruin there night and now mine.

within less then 15 minutes i had all 4 numbers they used to call this house and raise this working man and his wife out of bed who both by the way had to get up and go to work at 5. i myself had just pulled 16 hours and wasn't home for 2 hours when i was awakened by the bat phone. they had gotten a total of 56 phone calls in a 2 1/2 hour period making it 56 counts of telephonic harassment. they were recorded phone calls by the complaining party and i knew one of the kids by name. so i went to his house only to find he was sleeping over at a friends birthday party where i found all 5 sleeping. i woke up 5 sets of parents hauled them all down town for a long coming to Jesus meeting resulting in 56 charges being filed against them and me getting to go back to sleep around noon.

the district attorneys office found it quite amusing that i asked to prosecute them until i called him 56 times and BAM he seen the light. i got 5 convictions on a deferred sentence resulting in 400 hours of community service and 5 sets of parents having to go out of there way.

now these 5 young boys will be serving community service till somewhere in 2009 and had to write a letter to the family they tormented.

have your fun but remember it can come back to haunt you!

I have several comments regarding your little 'story' there Barney Fife....


- Personally I woulda arrested the couple that was dumb enough to answer 56 prank calls in a 2 1/2 hour period. I mean c'mon now, gimme a break.

- Based upon your comments it's pretty obvious that part of your eagerness to prosecute these 'kids' was based upon the fact that YOU were also personally 'inconvenienced'. IMHO it sounds a little vindictive and unprofessional to me.

- "Bat phone"....."coming to Jesus meeting"......dude, get over yourself.

- Let's face it, these were kids, yes KIDS, doing something stupid that deserved punishment, but community service until 2009?......c'mon now. That's more than a little harsh I'd say. If I was in this couples position (yes, putting myself in their shoes), took a stupid pill and answered 56 prank calls, I would not hold such a vendetta.

- You seemingly justify making 56 phone calls yourself simply to prove a point. If I was the District Attorney I woulda put YOU in jail.

Then you and Otis (for all you Andy Griffith - Mayberry fans) coulda sang Kumbaya together in your cell. And you'd think twice before you arrested sweet Aunt Bee for jaywalking.

I wasn't inconvenienced at all its part of my job. i just felt like pointing out that when you do things it often makes a ripple if you will to many others because of your actions. i also slimed this little thread down quite a bit, don't think for one minute i didn't let the adults know how i felt about them answering the phone 56 times instead of simply turning it off and going to bed. however they were the "victim" rather you or i like it or not they have rights as well. they have the right to peace.

i am eager to do my job because thats what i get paid for! i don't get paid to respond to a victims house and simply say "sir these are kids go back to bed because i don't do my job when there are kids involved....." lol ur nuts. i am professional in my job and duties to wards everyone including the suspects as if you would have a clue by reading half of a little story i wrote get a grip.

as for the "bat phone" comment, thats something i made reference to for my clan mates who seem to call it that every time they hear my phone ring.

the "coming to Jesus meetings" has nothing to do with how i feel about myself, its just a phrase commonly used by law enforcement lol.

as for there punishment i don't have a hand it dealing that out. i make the case, submit it to the right place and THEY not me decide what happens to who ever is involved.

I have the sudden urge to salute for some strange reason.

Well I can't speak for anybody else, but I will certainly sleep much more soundly knowing that such a criminal element has been so swiftly brought to justice.

Keep up the good work and Sheriff Taylor may even let you take your shiney bullet out of your pocket and put it in your revolver.
