This made me smile:

http://moneyland.time.com/2011/06/06/homeowner-forecloses-on-bank-of-america-yes-you-heard-that-right/

A couple bought a house, they paid cash and did not have a mortgage, so they were a little surprised to have the Bank of America turn up to initiate foreclosure proceedures on them. They had to hire an attorney to defend themselves before the bank dropped their proceedings. So no harm done and the bank were ordered to pay their legal costs, only they didn't. So:

Quote:
“They’ve ignored our calls, ignored our letters, legally this is the next step to get my clients compensated,” Allen stated during an interview with CBS News.
Allen then reported to a local branch of the bank with sheriff’s deputies, who he instructed to remove cash from the tellers’ drawers, furniture, computers and other property. Approximately one hour later, the Naples News reports, the bank manager produced a check for $5,772.88 to satisfy Allen’s fees and additional costs.

Interesting, sounds like the homeowner hired a knowledgeable attorney. It's really straight out f'd how unbelievably backwards some of these corporations operate. Their commercials and ads always air on the side of "similarity" and understanding, but there could be nothing farther from the truth. All they care about is taking your money, investing it in personal funds, and giving themselves bonuses and payraises. The day will never come where I finance through a corporate bank, local's the way to go even if rates may be a tad higher.

I'm glad this guy eventually got his money back and the bank should be fined for such apalling service. Call the BBB on B of A lol. They'd probably settle faster than you can blink.

Only prob with BBB is they are not quite the right place for complaints........ I have had a number of customers accuse us of fraud for an automatic renewal of their software when the automatic renewal setting is optional which is found in 2 places...........this person clearly did the right step though!!!!

ROFL! I would have bought tickets to watch that! I would never go with such a crooked institution as most of the big banks are these days. They NEVER make a mistake unless it is in their favor...and even when THEY are wrong, the burden of proof is still on the consumer. We all use credit unions. My credit union had no issues when the bottom fell out of everything....why? because they weren't writing the shady paper the banks were. They always talk about having to pay the ridiculously huge salaries and compensation to attract the best and brightest......sounds like that policy is paying off. *sarcasm*
