Eating cigarettes?

I was talking with my friends online and there was few other guys too who I didn't know. We started to talk about smoking cigarettes and stuff and someone said that you shouldn't eat cigarettes because it might kill you, and other said that you will get fever or you will get other stuff (you might puke or get diarrhea and so on). I couldn't believe it and I feel like testing it out cause I have no clue what I could get from it.
Do you guys/girls know if this is just a some urban legend or based on real facts?

I did a little browser, I couldn't find a urban legend on eating ciggy's.
But on a somewhat related note. I did so happen to find out If you ingest a certain amount of that stuff that's inside the cigarettes you could potentially die from it.

Yesterday they showed it on TV. They said that if babies ate a cig then they wud die of a toxical reaction.
There was some kind of doctor who said that 1 cig per 7 KG or something like that results in death.
So if you weigh 70KG then you would have to eat 10 cigarettes to die .

.....wow.....are people applying for the Darwin Award? Why is that kind of nonsense even necessary. I understand the baby angle (kinda) as it is a warning to keep yet another poisonous substance away....but that should be common sense as well. Cigarettes, if used properly, are one of the few products on the planet that will kill you. Why in the heck with that knowledge would someone want to use them improperly? All I can think of is something to write on their Darwin Award application. I wouldn't encourage friends or even enemies to eat cigs......just call people considering that what they are.....morons and move on to something not colossally stupid. <----just some friendly advice....you can't force people to use their brains.

Eating cigarettes isn't dangerous.. you could get some minor stomach issues in worst case. Cigarettes consist out of tobacco, nicotine, hydrocarbons and chemical products such as glue to keep the paper foiled around. Eating it is less dangerous than smoking one.. ;)

Nope, it's not a poison, it's the thing causing you to get addicted... When using it in massive proportions, it's like drugs.

Yep, everything a growing human needs....oh...you forgot the chemicals added to the paper to keep the cigs burning and what is in the butts. Since someone might even be dumb enough to eat cigs, I guess there is a possibility that they might be eating the butts as well so we might as well include what is in those too.
I guess if I was playing on the game show Jeopardy!, I would be saying "Let me see....I will take 'Moronic things that might kill me over time for $200' Alex." |
