Why do republicans only want Obama to fail?

I can understand someone siding against him on abortions, or certain funding, but when you are just plain nagging at him for giving a speech to students about how important it is to stay in school you are just siding against him no matter what the cost. The speech could keep many teens in school, and Reagan, and BOTH bushs gave a speech about the VERY SAME THING. Yet suddenly a Democrat wants to do it to try and keep America's youth in school, and BAM republicans claim he is trying to "Brain wash kids"...........

Just, just because you didn't want the current president to be elected doesn't mean that you should WANT him to fail. Its your country too, if he fails YOU FAIL, because that brings DOWN the country, YOU ALONG WITH IT.

I just cant understand these people, do they just lack any education past the 4th grade when you learn not to be a sore loser?

Rant off
Would be better if our President shared the people's priority

I, for one, want President Obama to succeed, of course...but that entails his embracing the key priority of the nation...which is strengthening the economy and providing jobs. The record to date is that he and the ruling party are intent on imposing their priorities on the American people...all of which, to date are the reverse of the current needs of the American people. Health care is important, but not to the extent that it burdens the next three generations with unsupportable debt, along with cap & trade and further 'stimulus' programs that must be paid with $$$ this country does not have. We must restore economic health to the country first...then we can pay for some of these other social programs which can then be dealt with. The Congress of the United States will receive a cold shower when it comes to polling time in 2006 if they do not wake up to the voice of the people before then.

Republican's are thinking of any good excuse to make fun of the democratic party. Or they are being racist pricks.

I for one would like to see a new 'change' in the America and hope Mr.Obama can fix the economy. Cause with his speech with keeping kids in school is gonna be hard if parent or young adult can't even get or keep a job to keep going to school let alone college.

It's not just the Republicans, it goes on in politics over here too and in other areas. Sadly it seems that individuals or groups own interests come before that of the country.

It's like it's more important for them to criticise everything they can so they can get in power next time around, regardless of whether what they are criticising is actually good for the country.

I'm trying to think of the last time I heard a politician actually say that the opponets had a good policy or a good idea. On the rare occasion that both sides have a similar policy, it just means one side accuses the other of stealing their good ideas.

Or sometimes there is an issue where they would damage their own interests by opposing what the government is doing, so instead they will pick on some small element like how it will be implemented.

yes, its like they are trying to dig a giant whole, have their own country fall in it.....and then try and get elected to lead the country that they put in a whole, which they can't get out of.....
