Calling any biologist, please attempt this question from my A level mock test paper.

1074

Using the formula given, work out the index diversity

d = Index of diversity
N = total number of organisms of all species
n = total number of organisms of a particular species
Σ = Sum of

My working out came to d = 24*(23)/182

My answer came to 3.03, though my mark scheme i'm using said the answer is 3.21. Is it the mark scheme thats wrong, or is it my working out?

The more I revise, the less confident i get :sneaky2: :thumbdown:

Major kudos to anyone that could offer any help.

Because they want you to fail. Anyway, that was a mathematical question really, was it not?

I'm doing an A level in Physics and the textbook we have is a pile of crap - it has absolutely no helpful information in it whatsoever. It just goes on about the history of Physics instead of what's actually relevant and in the specification. Makes me angry. :@

So yeah, they don't want you to do well!

We have the same for chemistry, the history behind it all and what not.. surely if i wanted to know that i'd have taken history...

but i have this feeling they want us to fail too
