Hi
I've just baught a new headset, as I trod on the former one [:@]. What are the best settings for sounds in CSS ? I'm always amazed when seing players able to "locate" someone only with sounds. At the moment, in my CSS options the "music" level is set to lowest and the "ingame sounds" to the highest. Are there other options to configure to get a better sound, or is there console commands to set sound ore precisely ? Unforgiven | Skydavo

![]() Hi Davo. It really depends on your headset mate. I use a set of Medusa 5.1 surround sound headphones. It comes with software to set up each "part" of the 5.1 so you get good clarity. Then in the CSS sound settings i've set it to 5.1 so that you can "hear" if footsteps are in front or behind you and to the left or right etc. If your using a standard set of stereo headphones make sure the music is low and the in game volume isn't too deafening. Also make sure the CSS sound setting is to Headphones. Its amazing the difference to the gaming experience and your score ifyou get using a 5.1 set-up. You can exen tell which weapon the opponent round the corner is firing ![]() Rob

try out different settings to see which work best for your soundcard/headset combo. I've gone through about 4 different headsets and a pair of regular headphones and ended up using different settings for each. It can be a pain in the butt to spend part of a day screwing around with settings trying to get them just right, but it can make a world of difference.

Thanks for the explanations. I begin to get used with this new headset. I've changed a few settings, so I think I won't break it soon
