most people play Dust 2. No matter where you are if there is a vote....most of the time it's Dust 2. My problem is I cant see my crosshairs because of the brightness in most of that map. I lower the brightness but that doesnt seem to help. Neither does changing the color of the crosshairs. Now add to that how bad I suck...I have a big problmem....any suggestions?

cl_crosshairscale 200
You could try going into the Advanced Video settigs, and disabling HDR Rendering. HDR causes the brights to be brighter when emerging from a shaded area. Suposed to look how it would in real life, with pupils gettin small/big and such. Default cl_crosshairscale is like 1000 or 1200 i believe, if you don't like 200 ![]()

Uh, there's a much easier way to do this without using a gigantic reticle that screws up your long range aiming.
You can use green or red as long as you turn the brightness on the reticle way up. Enter these commands into console, they're good for any map for that matter. cl_crosshairusealpha 1 cl_crosshairalpha 100000

I was having the same problem with dust and dust2 being way too bright and the colors looking washed out. I disabled High Dynamic Range lighting and that fixed it for me. In CS Source it's under Settings -> Video -> Advanced Settings. You might want to give that a try if the maps look way too bright.

Slayer chill dude and don't insult the gentleman please
![]() FYI i've dealt with the forum spamming. Kamikazie read your infraction carefully. Bringing up 5 month old threads and posting one liners is not the way to impress. I would advise you read the "sticky" threads at the top of the forums FIRST in future. Rob
