is it possible to apply a custom sound to a weapon? i got a new skin for my deagle but it still have the same sound and it really doesnt go with it. ive got the sound files i want to use but dont know how toapply them to a certain weapon.

It is possible, however doing it may cause you not to be able to connect to some servers due to the consistency on servers. I found this out by adding a skin to my knife with a custom sound. The skin worked but I could not connect to servers due to the consistency.

already happened today, i just had to delete some sound manifest.txt file and it worked fine. its normally only on cal servers isnt it? id still like to do it.

Ive done this before i went through a phase of basically modding out the whole game. I cant remember off the top of my head but for pretty much any guide for modding css you should see This website. Although a word of advice. After i had a day straight at modding everything, i got incredibley annoyed because i couldnt tell which gun was which, which skin id installed to which team and i couldnt see anything for masses of blood. Id mod-Light at first. You probably dont remember how long it took to tell the difference between different gun sounds, but once you install your new sounds...You'll find out ! Hope this helps

problem is those are all sound packs, nothing about installing your own.

i used google to widen the search and found the right guide on there, to bad the program linked isnt available anymore.

If i am understanding you right, you have downloaded a skin and it has come with sounds files, but you dont know how to install them ?

wrong, i have downloaded a skin that uses the normal sound files. they really dont go with the weapon so i want to change them, i have the sounds i want to change them to but dont know how.

Its normalyl a case of just tinkering around with them until you get them in the right place. Trial and error in other words. Some of the guides are sketchy at best on FPSB but once you decipher some of the poor laanguage, its normally the right information. If you ask me, modding sounds is more trouble than its worth. Default FTW!
