Trial Weekend

VALVe did something nice for once! This weekend, July 7-10, you will be able to play DoD:S for free on your steam.

I will try it out this weekend and tell you guys what I think. I dont care if it is only a 3 day trial as long as I get to try it before I buy it.

I bought DoD:S, but I can't run it until I get my motherboard replaced. 20fps is unplayable in my opinion.

They did this a couple months back as well, that's when I decided to get the game. One unfortunate thing is that I found out I wasn't as good at the game as I thought I was because there are loads of noobs on these free weekends.

Ok well I just played it for 4 hours straight.

Its great. Im hooked.

Its a different style of play with the checkpoints you must capture and all. Another great feature is when you die you spawn in 5 seconds so the play is continuous as opposed to waiting for the round to be over watching paint dry in CS:S for 2/3 min. I also like the old school WW2 weapons alot. VALVe made this into a decent game that isnt too much like counter strike yet it has some of the features of a VALVe game I like.

They did the free weekend back in February too. I personally don't like that they chose to do it during WSVG/CPL because there is absolutely no internet worth talking about there. Hence, I missed the free weekend. Granted I own the game so I can play whenever I want, but it's so much more fun to play when there are 5 billion noobs on.

I liked DoD(Original) better actually. DoD:S is pretty and all, but the K-98 in the original was much more accurate. Same for the M1 Garand. There was no second view for any weapons, and there were more weapons available.

Then again maybe I'm just bitchin because I suck at DoD:S (I tried to play it for a while today...5-9 was the best I got.)

Alrighty another trial weekend has started! This may not be for DoD but its for Red Orchestra. I really want to buy RO so Im excited to play. If I really get addicted enough to the game from this weekend then I will probably buy it.

I played it for a while, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be though. Call of Duty 1/2 and Day of Defeat are way better multiplayer WW2 games in my opinion.
