I have 2 gig's of ram a 1.16 duo core processor, and a Nvidia Gefore 8600 GTS. IF you got that, or better stuff, It'll run just fine.

Seriously what a disappointing cock up. I'd been looking forward to MW2 since E3 - I wont be buying it, what a let down :(

I think you're alone in your boycott of the game, Debs.

As seen here, here and here.

From what i've seen on the game it is completely smooth gameplay the whole time and to be honest runs much better than cod4 for some reason i can't explain. I can see it being great fun as a public game but i think the maps are slightly bigger than in cod4 and so i think match play might not work quite as well. Also on public search and destroy is rubbish because you have to wait in between maps almost as long as they're played for due to the round limit on each map.
The servers taking on a console style setup is quite annoying just because of that waiting time in between each map and because its harder to play matches or just pop on for a bit with a friend. Despite that though i think it is well worth buying.

This is a thread about the PC multiplayer, so xbox sales aren't really relevent. People boycotting it will have some effect on sales but it's not going to stop it being huge. I think the reason they aren't too concerned is because IWnet is going to give them total control over the multiplayer game and that will allow them to make money further down the line.

With COD4 PC users got the extra maps for free, on the xbox they got charged. You can only charge if you, or the console manufacturer, have control over the multiplayer game.

If you look through their stated reasons for IWnet there are ways to provide all that without ditching dedicated server support and most have nothing to do with dedicated servers. To me this is just a means for IW to moniterize the multiplayer aspect of the game. They will have known that this would anger a lot of PC users so they would have to be sure they could make up the money they lose on initial sales later on, or it wouldn't make any business sense.

I may be wrong, they may give out extras for free, but I doubt it.

I'm sure it's a very good game and people who buy it will enjoy it. For me they have taken away the part that I most enjoyed about COD4, I mostly played on 50 man team deathmatch servers, those are not an option with MW2. I did enjoy some of the other game modes with fewer players, but those weren't the main reason that I've kept playing it.

And spare a thought for emerging games markets in countries that don't have the high speed internet we get in Europe, US, Canada, Japan etc. You may get pretty smooth multiplayer but in places where a decent up speed is rare, they won't.

i personally love the game for just casual games not so good if you want scrims on it. If it means getting new components/updating of your pc i would say its only worth it if your gonna use the updates in other games too on its own its not worth spending extra money to update

Oh boy. I am so dissapointed in this game that I don't know where to begin. In fact, I can't be bothered to. So I'll sign my name here, just so you'd know .
