SpawnPoint - Where Game Begins

Here is a very interesting glitch that gives you a "super pick". A friend of mine who worked on the Half Life 2: Done Quick speed run (Speed Demos Archive - Half-Life 2), which is quite an amazing piece of work beating the game in an hour and a half, showed it too me. In the level where you have to take a pick-axe out of an elevator to make it work, take the pick ax out early using the gravity gun from outside the elevator. Then, carry it in the elevator and keep holding it while you activate the lift. Soon you will see the plate that you are supposed to remove to get in the elevator come floating down. Make sure that you hold the pick underneath it. When they connect, the game will go crazy for a sec and your screen flip around. Afterwards, just take the pick axe out in the open and jump on it. It will send you flying. By flying, I mean over a mile if you get it right.

I've attached a demo of my self doing it, and here's a couple videos of my friend. In the first one, it shows you how to do it, and the second one he uses it to jump way ahead in the level.
