Dodgy Graphics Need Help

hiya guys

well my friend sends me a guest pass for DoDSource because it ended on that day, ive got it for another 2 days now, i finally downloadedit all and got round to playing it just now.

i went on and all the graphics looked dodgy, then i realised, i can see thorugh the god dam walls, now i aint using this and im gonna delete it unless i can sort the problem

NO i DO NOT wall hack, this is the first time ive played since the trial week last year sometime, no hack or any thirdparty app for this has touched my pc.

the only settting ive done is add cl_restrict_server_commands 0 to the config.

Hmm. that does look like a wall hack though (I know that you arent, just looks like one)(Not that I wall hack btw, Just seen screenshots before) lol

I would reccomend validating content, defragging content and then if that doesnt work remove local content and retry.

well i revalidated my files, and drefraged them

wentback on the same server and all worked fine:



well as you can see, its fixed. SO i guess it was a glitch when the game installed its self.

dont need to worry about it now, thanks mate i can happily play now

p.s. are the SP DoDS servers down?

I believe they were dropped due to lack of traffic. The 173rd clanDoD 1.6 server is now ZombieMod #2, for example.

I have had a couple glitches like that in CS:S where all of the Boxes on the map would be transparent. It is caused by the engine not rendering prop_detail objects in the map. Mine was caused by a video card glitch, your was likely something similar, looks like it wasnt rendering func_wall entities in the map.

Thanks for coming here and asking about it, most would just leave it as a wallhack!

some of those pics looked horrid. I have never had that problem in dods. I have only seen through stuff in personalmade maps by other people where you can see in hills and stuff. Or if they change the gravity you can see through mountains and stuff from going on areas you cant reach normally kinda like in css.

i like to play dod bhecause its more realistic than counter strike source but it could be more realistic by adding in a medic character and a bit less recoil on the guns that is very not truei have been to a gun rage and a guy was firing a tompson and it did not have that much recoil at all.

i also do remcomend you revalidated your files, and drefraged them - ive seen that on my friends computer. am guessing ur gfx card is weak?? idk u should play around with the settingz. Dosnt look like hacks 2 me, just a bad glitch

Polskie his video card isn't weak because he has hdr running and it takes some power to run HDR with out it being choppy and this has been solved

B4 i left dod:s (cos its pants) ppl had the same problem wen they lowered there DXlevel.

Hi guys i need really help i play for more than one year in the same server with the same people. I hate cheatears and hackers becouse is so lame.

BUt yesterday i was banned becouse they said i had a wall hack or something like that. the things is this:

Yesterday i receive my new computer is a amd phenom 2.4ghz with 8gb and gigabyte mother board ma790fx-ds5. the guy who give me the computer install all the programs except steam and word and anothers aplications.

after i install the steam and the day of defeat i run to see the performance of computer i was like i little children with new toy, and i start playing at the same server as always play. when i start play in saw they change the map to the new dod_snowbride_beta2 or the new one with flag under the bridge and jeeps on the bridge.

But also i saw i dont have any walls arround me even the bridge i cant see it. I ask to one of the administrators in play if the dod is under construction or something like that becouse i never see that before and also i said we need walls is verry confuse.

Well the thing is i was banned for life!!! and i still having the same problem...
for really guys i need help with this or if you have more information about this i appreciate if u can post here becouse i wanna show tothat guys im not a cheater and i never will. Also if they dont restore my access to they server but just to clean my image.

I know you sorted out your problem and all that but another common thing that most people dont think about is to actually take apart your computer and clean all the dust and debris on your video card fan, i know on my computer i'd get occasional lock ups and funky graphics sometimes and would be like what the heck? Anyway keep your fans clean so it doesn't overheat, games nowadays can be rough on old processors. Keep it clean folks :P

DOD has awseome graphics although i think the gameplay could be better like add a medic or more classes. like the medic could go around with a rifle and abey give people 50% more health...this is just a suggestion anyone else think so?
