Half Life 2: Episode 3 News

I've started this thread so people can keep me up to date on this latest installment - as I dont really know any gaming websites that have accurate or up-to-date news (they may claim to, but they dont, damn it all!).

So, what is the latest dish of news for this game? Is there a general release month/year set? All that I have seen/heard are a couple of pieces of genuine concept art. Its been a year since Ep 2 came out so, I hope there will be some scrap of news within the next 2-3 months. Meh?

Only real thing that i know about in regards to episode 3 is that its gonna be the final game in the HL stories line but not that end of the series. I'd Image the release date would be something like end of 2010 or mid 2011.

Well, the gap between HL2 and episode 1 was X months. The gap between episode 1 and episode 2 was 1.5 X months. I guess the time it takes for ep 3 will be like 2X or 2.5X if that made sense to you all So i guess about another year, late 09 my guess.

The fact also that only 3-4 months ago valve gave an interview stating that they "didnt know which direction the story was taking" was a bit shocking. So long after Episode 2 came out and they havent even finished planning the story yet.

Valve need to set their priorities straight. L4D looks cool but Episode 3 is vital to humanity. I cant live with it xD

Just to clear up Xemnas's post, as it was a little bit confusing the first time i read it.

Episode 3 is not the final Half Life game. It is the final installment of Half-Life 2. After Episode 3 comes out they will be working on Half Life 3, probably using a new engine.

Yes but is also said that Episode 3, is the last in that particular story arc. Meaning if and when there is a Half-Life 3. It wont be to do with Gordon/Alyx/Borealis stuff. = It will be set in a different time, about a different thing, maybe still gordon freeman, but what do i know.

Kikizo | Interview: Valve's Doug Lombardi - Left 4 Dead and Half-Life 2: Episode Three

Valve have given an interview about Left 4 Dead and Episode 3. Apparently, Episode 3 has just been shelved for a while since L4D has been in production.

And i quote:

Kikizo: Won't you announce or show anything on Episode 3 this year?

Lombardi: We may at the very end of the year.
