Half Life 2: Episode 2 Achievements

Hey guys, Ive completed Episode 2, 3 or 4 times, for fun, for the achievements, for loss of a better idea lol. But ive tried to do some of the harder achievements (like taking that damn garden gnome with me throughout the entire game and put it in the rocket at the end), but some achievements just wont work. Most are completed fine, but the gnome one will not complete, even though i do everything correctly.. any ideas as to why?

The same happens with the achievement to kill the chopper without missing, didnt miss once, and didnt get the achievement. I tried this 3 times and each time it just didnt give me the achievement completed..

Another achievement that it wont let me complete is the one where you have to protect every single building in the end from being destroyed. One destroyed building = fail. TWICE i completed this last boss battle without letting any building come to harm, yet no achievement completed.

Anyone know an obvious answer as to why?

Note: I have BOTH, used cheats, and not used cheats, for each of the above achievements, so that isnt the reason why...

thats odd, i got those achievements. that stupid mother f-ing gnome. omg, what a pain the rear that was. every time i see that travelocity gnome i want to shoot the tv. and i dont know how many times id have to go back and do a huge battle over and over cause an errant explosion would prematurely launch my little budy into outer space. but i finaly shoved that little c-sucker into the rocket and never had a greater sense of accomplishment in my life when that achievement bubble popped up.... oh man, valve sure has a twisted sense of humor.

I was truly heartbroken when i got to the very end, and then i DIDNT get the achievement when i know for a fact that gnome was looking forward to walking on the moon!

yeah, i hope hes a block of ice somewhere out there in the cold blackness. and in space, no one can hear you scream... not like a garden gnome can scream....
