Smoke Lag

I'm not sure if this is your servers or my PC but on 83.142.230.73:27015 - SPAWNPOINT.COM | COMMON GROUNDS D2 | 100tic I have noticed that whenever somebody throws a smoke grenade and you stand around the smoke so some of it is on your screen then it gets a little laggy.

I wasn't quite sure whether to post this in the CS:S Sessions Topic or the Computer topic as I'm unsure if its me or youselves but if someone could gimme a shout I'd be grateful.

I just hopped on that server and checked and a smoke didn't disrupt me when I did it. Is this the only server it happens to you on??

You should try to lower your graphic quality in the option.

What's your config ?

yea it might be your comp. Whenever theres smoke on my comp, my comp lags and when im over my friends house, there is no lag when there is smoke. He has a lot better comp than me.

It's mostly caused by your graphics card struggling to cope....

A few "noobs" deliberately spam smoke naded to deliberately lag up people pcs in game

As RAZR states try turning the graphics options down slightly in your CSS settings and see what happens...

i went to css options > video but couldnt find the option. could u give me the exact name of the option plz? .

Its here mate;

Options > Video > Click the Advanced... Button - Now lower each of those settings mate

Also thanks guys I thought that could be the problem, I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405. Dunno if thats decent or not but I guess not hehe.
I bet its this Damn Vista I never used to have any problems untill I got this tosser of an O/S haha :P

I had the same problem on my old computer - not sure if it's the video card or faster CPU / more memory on the new one but everything is fine now
