Please note - I have never referred to anyone using the AWP as n00b. I don't call people n00bs at all - regardless of weapon, strategies, tactics, skill or any lacking degree thereof.

I'm concerned you think I am accusing or labeling AWP'ers or otherwise as n00b, or that I did so in my original post.

In regards to Valve's changes to the weapon's delay - I have noticed many players quickly switching between AWP/pistol/AWP between shots - ostensibly to shorten the reload time. If this was lengthened by Valve, I would've hated to see the original time period. I still think it is too fast. I have no issues with talented players doing it - they have fine motor skills that have long since abandoned my abused body - but it is a flaw that Valve should balance.

As well as the no running with the AWP - I think the movement rate is still too fast.

I like your M4 headshot story (opponent accidentally walking into your line of fire), please tell me what happened to your intended target. I think this is a great continuation point for our debate.

I think the weapon is overkill, and not being balanced or restricted enough (by Valve) makes it's rampant use licentious.

Not much else to tell about the M4 double headshot story. I got the intended target with a HS with the 3 round burst recoil, and a guy walked right into my line of fire and became my second headshot.

Simple as that. No skills involved in lining them up. The 2nd guy did it for me.

i like awp better then the scout.dont think im a gay camper cuz im not, i use it as a rushing gun as to cover ppl as they move on like in dedust, u gotta cover the bomber but after the bombs planted and other ppl take up to protecting the site i drop the awp and take out an m3/ak/m4

WoW so many people for Scout.

Scout is good

People only complain about AWP when someone good uses it because they can basicaly take out a whole team and it ruins peoples fun.

People which are good with AWP tend to be in good clans which need a AWPer to win games.

When you become good you don't like to die. It's like your not used to it any more, so if your playing bad what people do is buy an AWP cause there more likely to get more kills. Thats all it is.

Well you do get some people that always use it which is stupid, but thats usualy the main reason.

as far as the real choice is.....AWP. one shot kills are a blast in a scrim. take out the enemy's best player and its almost "default win" at times. sure scout "takes more skill" but try taking on league guys with it - game, set and match.

If you want real skill try getting kills with the UMP....thats skill (read..luck).

Scouts good for mobility and high-damage hits...you fun faster with a scout than anything else including knife, and it always does great damage...plus it's pretty inexpensive and noscopes well...


I just prefer the brutal power and accuracy that comes from the end of the awp. Sure it will hit your target 1/1000 while unscoped at any distance, but that one hit always brings a smile to my face (a couple blind 'turn'n'shoot' shots CT side of Dust2 while goin to B come to mind )

The scout shoots lead pinkies, while the awp launches lead fists.

On a slightly more ranty note...don't you hate it when you get called an 'awp noob' when you go like 30-2 with AWP? MAKES NO SENCE!!

Edit: UMP is awesome. Very accurate short-mid range with decent damage. Only downside is rate of fire and long range damage...and the tiny clip...really forces you to make every shot count though Takes a lot of practice though

Only time I ever get really peaved about the awp is when a team of people who are decent with it are allllll using it... It'll be eight awpers ct side of d2, and that's usually where I have to draw a line and restrict it down to only a few per team.

As far as the scout goes I love it's flexibility. Speed reloads and accuracy all contribute to a great and (as far as pubs go) greatly underestimated gun.

The scout is one of the best weapons that actually requires some skill to use. Some days scout kills come with ease were as others you are lucky to get one kill.

I would still take the scout anyday over the awp as it is very satisfying to kill and AWP'er with a scout .

And to anyone who says the scout isn't acurate standing up dosn't know how to use it .

scout is light so u can run just as fast as if u have pistol or knife. awp its powerful but hard to run away from the enmy cause its too heavy!

i think scout is more accurate and more faster to reload. since i bought css i've played in server's with no awp's so i'm used with scout
