AWP vs SCOUT

Yeah Valve actually made the scout a little more inaccurate during a previous update. Way to go Valve.

I used to be able to pop off the most hacker like shots on Assault and other maps. Up until Valve changed the way the scout shoots, that is.

How do you tell that a gun became less accurate? Did you observe this or is there a way to see a breakdown of a weapon's characteristics?

I dunno if there is a way, but I'm just stating from personal experience. For example I go on a awp map, with bots. I buy a scout, I then try shots at the bots, sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn't.

I noticed it because Valve said that they had changed the way some rifles shot, and increased the effectiveness of the pistols.

That, and from personal experience, with nothing changed on my set up, I was not able to pull of the shots that I used to, due to the "changed rifle effectiveness" by Valve.

So I drew my own conclusions, but many scout users have reported the same thing.

ya scout owns all specially when ur 1337 at no scopes cuz i dont know y but ive tryed like 5 tims to no scope wit awp and its so freakin hard i just like never used awp ever again

Scout by far. It gives you so much more maneuverability as well as decent damage and the 1 shot kill headshot. Its also much cheaper, as everyone has already said. Awping takes skill, but scouts take much more. Other than kills, the scout gives you respect - in the midst of all the awpers (not in SP servers), someone has the guts to scout and kill awpers. In the right hands, scouts can prove to be just as deadly, if not more deadly than awps. Hands down.

When your computer only gets up to 15 FPS with everything turned down, and when a huge fire fight breaks out near you, a scout is useless.

Not to mention I still haven't figured out how to use the damned thing. It is so inaccurate that it frustrates me to no end when I am standing still, took my time with double zoom and made sure the crosshair was pointing at someone's skull, and 3 shots later, none of them even hit the guy.

Such an awesome weapon I'll tell ya.

Try crouching when you are double scoped it should make it spot on. Even if you are getting 15 fps

As for me Scout > AWP by far. Since I started playing again I can't actually remember using an AWP since I mainly play on the SP servers. (thanks guys ) I used to be pretty good with an AWP but I perfer the scout doesn't seem nearly as "lame".

The only times I bother with scoped weapons in on gungame, deathmatch or if I find one on the floor and I've no main gun. I think my experience on deathmatch best sums up these two guns.

I don't use scout or AWP on a regular basis so I'm not great with either.

If I scout on deathmatch I enjoy it more, except those missed shots on stationary targets, I feel more agile and when I get a kill I feel I deserve it, especially a hs on a moving target. My score will usually suck though.

When I AWP I'm obviously slower and I feel lucky with most of my kills, I know it was a bad shot and I only just hit the guy but he's just as dead as if I had taken my time more and done a good shot. My score will be far better than with the scout and even the guns that I consider to be my best. If I want to be first to 100 I'd use the AWP.

The AWP is by far the most effective gun in the game, which is why people complain about it and it gets restricted on a lot of servers.

Well i use both and I must say that it's taken me an awfully long time to get as good with an awp as i have on most standard maps.

I've used an AWP to stop a full on T rush out the front doors on Assault.

If you practice long enough you can jump around just as much with an awp as a scout and pop off very accutate shots when you land. It takes balls and patience to stand still when the needs must and pop off awp shots when the bullets start flying.

The advantage is that if you miss your HS then your still likely to kill the dude if you hit him in the body. Miss the HS with your scout and odds are that you're gonna be "worm food" before you get a second chance.

I must admit that ping and latency play a big part in whether I use a scout or an AWP. On higher ping servers (Read a load of the US servers) there is NO WAY i'd awp as by the time my pc registers the enemy i'm probably as good as dead

I love the way people always say the AWP is a noob weapon that takes no skill to use. Tell that to any good league team player and watch his reaction.

I suppose it boils down to what you are happier playing with. I've seen "Grayraven" on the Da and other Assault servers destroy terrorist teams with his Scout as its about the only weapon he ever uses.

However i've seen many a good awper almost single-handedly turn the whole course of a round or match with his skills.

I used to be able to do that. Not anymore though.

So as I understand it, when you need to be mobile and such, use single scope, as that should hit what you're pointing at (head or body).

While double scoped, you need to be crouching, or you need to whip the mouse around so that it snaps to your target (usually the head) for an accurate shot.

Definitely the Scout. For whatever reason, I cannot use an AWP at all. I aim, I click and it's a 50/50 gamble. With a Scout, I'm willing to bet that I hit them about 80% of the time (not a sniper-type player). I noticed after I spent some time playing the Gun Game mod, my precision with the Scout greatly increased both with use of the scope and without.

i really dont kno which is better because im good with both but, scout is easy to beat awp cause u can run around and dodge bullets from the awp
so actually scout is better

I am an amazing AWPer but i still get killed by the occasional SCOUTers. I like to pull out the scouts somtimes just to kill the awps because its fun to watch them cry saying "Wow Lag!" "Hacker!" Ect.
