source freezing/crash

why does my game freeze up at times? i have low ping (around 60 70) rate 25000 and fps_max 300. and my game also locks up or crashes..only way tp fix it is to hold the wpoer button. all happens when playing zombie mod and my PC probably exceeds the recommended requirements.

This happened to me blackhawk. I deleted my cstrike folder and reinstalled via Steam and the prob was resolved. Might be worth a try........

get a can of compressed air and clean off your fans and heatsinks.

dust buildup = heat buildup = computer suddenly deciding to take a break and cool down

I get the same problem every now and then. Mine tends to do it while loading up the server or after I pick what team. I have everything cleaned since I love my pc almost as much as I do my kids. I also keep it highly maintained I have also reinstalled but I think mine only does it when I dont turn off the pc for like 3 weeks. After I shut it down for 30 seconds its good to go for another few weeks before that problem occurs. I am just one who likes to keep the pc running all day everyday without turning it off.

Same here Gats... i keep mine on all the time, i just turn my monitors off every night so they don't keep me up(i dual screen) but i've never had a problem quite like you, although i do have like 7 fans in my case, maybe thats why. . .

i dont have any crash problem during the game , sometimes when i launch css the game crash but never when im playing and i have a crappy computer [&:]
