Awp Or Scout?

What do you prefer? A fast scout, or a powerfull AWP? I would prefer the awp me, but you on the other hand?

Just played a match on D2, and I gota admit, playing with a scout in the back of B is great fun.

All you can see is the head, you motor around and they cant hit you, but you can hit them

Normaly however, im an AWP man.

awp by far. anyone who says 'awp for noobs, scout for pros' try that in cal or something, good luck with that.

well i would say if you are a person that likes realy dead acurate shots like the scout but a reduced amount of power then go with the scout but if you are kinda new to snipeing the i would honestly go with AWP

The ONLY thing the awp has better is power. Scout running speed is fast, compared to slow when using AWP. The scout's reload time is much shorter than the AWP, the time between each shot is much smaller, meaning much faster shooting. Noscoping - AWP is widely unaccurate, Scout is more accurate, but still not perfect.

End of the day, Scout beats the hell out of AWP for everything except power. Therefore, AWP is better xD xD xD I love it :P

I think both weapons have their advantages and disadvantages. Just like the difference between an m4 and an ak47. An awp in the hands of a pro is unstoppable but the scout is a great alternative in the rounds where the pockets are empty. I think the stigma surrounding the awp comes from newbies picking up an awp and camping with it to get cheap kills. There really is nothing you can do to prevent this as it is part of the game. I think the awp is an important part of the game. Notice however how I say it is "part" of the game. Awp whores need to round out their game and play with a different weapon once in a while. Nobody likes an awp whore haha. Thats just my opinion though.

I've always been a scouter. I've always found the AWP to be too easy of a kill. Yes, I do believe in the possibility of "too much convenience."

Honestly, I can run faster with a scout, shoot sooner, and sometimes I can even shoot while moving. The AWP is big and heavy and is a lump of crap unless I have my sights up in a stationary position.

Awp otherwise owns all.. i'd rather have an AK than an awp in most situations.

AWP :PP and if you really want some practice just surch for an awp map server (all the awping maps are called awp_ something)

I just got to add my two cents......here it goes:

The awp I have found in most matches are used for cheap kills no matter what skill set the player has. One shot = one kill most of the time.

The scout is weak and sometimes can lack accuracy. It takes more than one shot to kill someone unless it is in the head.

They are both good weapons but I feel the Scout is better as it takes way more skill to shoot. Like some of the threads say...awp whores...they are everywhere.

BUT! if were talking real life then any variation, Accuracy International makes in .50cal is fun as hell in the mountains of Afghanistan . It will split Taliban in half from over 2 miles. ROFL great memories...

AWP whores are common as you say but that doesn't mean there aren't any scout whores either. If you are just gonna sit in a corner and use a sniper a scout can be pretty much as successful with an awp and just as boring, it is about the attitude of the player that makes them guns that are actually fun to use. Moving around with them makes them a whole lot more challenging and interesting.

I have to say that AWP is my favorite but that is only because for the money i am paying for a scout i could just as easily buy an M4/AK and so i never actually play with the scout.
(i disagree vehemently with anyone who says the AWP takes no skill as they are so obviously wrong. It may only take one shot but you still have to learn to aim with it and to get good, as in more than a kill a round then death, you actually have to be able to use at close range too.)

I must admit that I am beginning to really enjoy playing with the scout. When I'm in deathmatch's I used to always pick the AWP + Deagle, but now I have to think.
The scout is a really good gun to use on the move, an extremely accurate gun - unlike the AWP. It may not deal as much damage but its speed overruled the AWP in my opinion.
The sheer power of the AWP is amazing, but I'm swaying towards the scout.
