lol i ask again, have you installed any other firewall programs?...
Uninstall your current firewall and just run the default windows firewall and see if that helps.

ohoho if anyone has ever played with me, they would know about my lag spikes similar to yours. Every 2-3 min, my ping will go up by 300and slowly come back down. So i am pretty much afk most of the time.

Is windows update turned off? If it isn't that could be the problem. If you press ctrl+alt+del before you start css, go to the process pane, and look for a process called wuauclt.exe If its running, end it. This is the process for windows update. I had this problem and thats what was causing it. Also if windows firewall is on turn that off to see if that helps. Ultimatley you can do a system restore to a time that it did work. Check for virus's too. All of these things could be a contributing factor to lag spikes. Write back with conclusions
![]() P.S are you running XP or vista? If vista gt vistamanager. It has a tool in the process manager that lets you cancel all unnesicary process's. If your on XP just cancel all the process's you dont need. Maybe a screen shot of the process's you have running would help solve your problem, if you could upload on onto here i could help identify the ones you dont need running and possibley even the cause of hte spikes. Failing that, defrag your dirves.

The problem only started to happen when CSS was updated. i have deleted all my viruses and spyware and i still get the annoying lag. i do have firewalls turned off and i re installed windows. but i kept all of my files for obvious reasons. i will try a defrag and see if that helps if not i will post a screen shot of my prosseses ( how do i take screenshots in windows)
