Why is it as popular as it is?

i understand, but considering that they have already came out with games like this, why don't we just play something different that is just as easy to play but has maybe persistent stats or built in leaderboards, to make the game feel more nonlinear?

CSS in my opinion has been the biggest competitive game to play, for so many different levels of skillz

Pros love to compete on CSS and make money.

People love to get pro and make some real money on CSS.

People love to pub it up and have fun on CSS.

These reasons have been around since the creation of CS when it was free and under development, from that time onwards its been one of the most played FPS games in the world.

CS has longevity because of its simplicity and thats why so many ppl from all walks of life and skill love it.

this game is popular for two reasons one it was $20 which is pretty cheap for a great fps series game. second it never gets old you have death run servers, death match servers and much more. this game contains some of the most skilled players from around the world and it is just fun to play and kill ppl on a daily basis.
