Want better aim. Here's some tips.

Think back to when you first started play CS:S, you can remember “the bullets never hit” feeling I'm sure. You just kept at it until you developed your skills to a point where you can hold your own in a death match or gun game. Now when you play the objectives type (normal with rounds) you find that it seems like people know where you are and aim extremely fast. Now the question is “What can you do?”.


Lets start by saying aim for the head or just above the shoulders(AWP excluded). Sounds easy, it's easy to say, it's not always as easy in practice. A great way to learn the shot type (long, medium, and close range) is to make a server or join an empty one with bots playing. Easy skill level setting is the best to get a handle on the cross hair placement, the fire rate (spray, controlled bursts and single fire) and the aim patterns. They are something you need to have ingrained into you play.

Lets talk about Speed. Aiming fast and shooting faster sounds like a great way to play but it has epic fail written all over it if you can't control it. If you aim fast and spray you might get sprayed back and die. The trick is to play smart, aim where you can catch someone off guard. Pro actively keeping your cross hair in the best place. (For example, head height or at an opened door.) Now that you are aiming to the general area you think people are, it's easy to make quick aim adjustments. It' seems like you aim frighteningly fast when in fact your just moving a minimum amount. After you got someone in the sweet spot, fire. Make use of the shooting type you think will best nail the target with.

180° snap around shots. These are 65% luck, 35% skill. How do you practice? That's easy, Play in death matches. Sit in common areas and ride it out. Takes time but after a while you start to develop a knack for it. Winning the battle depends on the enemy missing and you hitting. It's the fun part.

To recap the things to do list.
1.Aim for the head or just above the shoulders(AWP excluded). Remember the fire rate and cross hairs position
2.Pro actively aim
3.180° snap around shots. Get the experience because that's the only way to get good at it.
4.When you start get your favorite weapon play until head shots are all you get for 3 or more rounds on an unpopulated server.
5.Have fun.

Fire strays at popular spots

In office for example when you look down the long hall. T's are always at the left or right. so fire a couple of bullets in both those places you bound to get an easy kill every 3 or 4 rounds. and people always say "OMG HAX" its always amusing.

Move in an unexpected manor.

Once again in office. at the stairs people always make the mistake of thinking you are gonna run all the way7 round the proper way. i always jump the barrier and head behind them with knife. just for kicks.

Another key tip:

Use the cl_crosshairscale command to make a smaller crosshair, which allows for much more precise aim at longer distances.

Also, I'd say that deathmatch is the most effecient way to practice, so long as you don't give in to the desire to just run around and pray 'n spray and take your time to aim precisely.

Another tip is to be confident. It sounds stupid, but if you actually feel you are going to kill the person then you stop yourself from making stupid mistakes. I've seen people get nervous and randomly spray while praying they get a kill. If you don't get nervous then you can take a second to aim for the head and guarantee yourself a kill.

Ok, when I fisrt started out, I found that I could get headshots quite easily, against one player! But taking on 3 -4 players at one time was just too hard, to improve your 3+ headshots in a row technique, do this:

Create server, whatever map you like. Make sure you set bots to one specific team. Then add 15 bots to the game.

Open up console and type the 4 following commands:

sv_cheats 1
bot_dont_shoot 1
mp_limitteams 15
mp_autoteambalance 0

Now, the bots cant shoot, and, the usual bot limit is 3, now you will have 15.

Generally you will run around and find a group of them, they cant shoot, so, now is the time to practice the short burst fire 3+ headshots in a row.

Haha people say that although after 3 years I still jump when I see somebody and spray like a headless chicken

I might try some of these bot and DeathMatch tricks though maybe they'll help.
