Does anyone actually use nightvision goggles?

all the maps i've ever played on they seem to be a useless option.. though i would like to try some decent maps where they may come in handy! like to be sneaky !

or are they just useless.. as far as i know they are totally useless :\

Id have to agree, NVG's are pretty useless. But i know this 1 player on UK assault who uses them all the time.

I dont know how he can see with em on, maybe it helps with his custom models he has. But i never use NVG's there pretty pointless unless u wana just turn em on/off and make that noise lol.

They are fun if you have more cash than you know what to do with. I always like to have them on if I know people are speccing me. Nothing like an CT bbd knife rush on Assault with NVGs...

They're a big help on de_nuke if you ever find yourself playing in the vents. I can't tell you how many times NVGs have stopped me from spraying a teammate that just dropped down. Most people don't even think about buying NVGs for one specific thing, but you'll be glad to have them should you find yourself in such a situation.

I used nvg when I had a bad monitor, now I don't but yeah, in nuke that would be a great idea.

There are certain ZM maps that look NVG's are recommended for, as well as FY and custom DE maps

bum_ Bum rush maps (deathmatch)
and
stealth_ gotta sneak around at nighttime or something

i have played on a pub server and this guy always used a shot gun and always had NVG's it was weird but he was top of his team so i didnt think anything of it... i buy them sometimes just cuz they make a cool noise and sometimes just cuz it makes it harder to see.

the only thing its good for is turning on and off. leaving it on is just stupid.

i have heard on many of other servers (not SP servers) that hackers use NV to hide their wallhacks. Is that true ??

So the main reason to buy NVG is to hear the on/off noise! Glad theres so many pros out there that know what they want out of cs
